Yea that was my thought
Hinged is possibility. but I'm not sure what they are going to sell for.
since mine is a prottotype I'm pretty sure it's cheaper so I don't want to release my price. I'll let sparksm do that.

Like previously stated, read the Aleromod thread. Basically, he needs a donor hood. If someone provides a RA one then he can make RA CF hoods. If someone gives him a stock one, same thing...

Go back a page and click on the link to Aleromod...

does he still need a hood? i'll give him mine for free, my car isn't going anywhere anytime soon anyway.... and as for checking oil, cmon now *yoink* 6lb hood ... that would be funny just to take it off all 6lbs and all hehe.... i could deal with that, have to get the pins painted black tho... ..

anyway if he wants a hood still i'll give him mine and get a cf one in return + say the 500 or whatever minus the cost of shipping my hood to them

Its true... ECAP and I graduated together and have run into each other a few times in the car aftermarket world.

Anyway.... I have a slight delay for all before I can totally confirm that the hoods can be made. There has been a multitude of financial and management errors that were made and have compiled all just today. These need to get fixed before anything can be done. Everything *should* get good by the end of the week and I will post accordingly.

In the meantime... if you guys want to find a donor hood, that is a wise move.

alright guys.. Personally I'm down w/ the hood.. Hook it up ... and besides you can drill some hinges into it.. usiing the stock assembly.. I've seen that done before on hoods of this sort as well..

okay guys anybody want to start a list of who is able to get a hood and order it withing the next couple weeks so we know where we stand? As well who wants to step up to give up their hood as well?

My hood is damaged so it's not going anywhere.. damn soccer mom..

HOOD STOCK OEM:
Spyhunter

just add your name to the list folks.

I have both an OEM hood and a SD ram air hood, both in great condition. I could send either one, but I'd prefer to have a carbon fiber SD hood (I like my heat extractors). I already use hood pins so that's not a problem, but I'd prefer to have hinges in the back as well. If it's too hard/expensive I guess I could live without them though. I'd like to talk to the guy and see his work before I send him my $800 hood though.

P.S. shipping would be easy since I live in MI.

Spy you can't just drill for hinges. He said it doesn't have a frame.

So am I to understand that the only way to COST EFFECTIVELY utilize the stock hinge/latch mechanism is to have the fiberglass frame? Would this really make it that much heavier? How much does a stock hood weigh anyway?? Does anybody have any weights/numbers on the various hoods available to us??
