Yeah you should def. get them ceramic coated. They look better, flow better, perform better, and manage heat better. All around better.

Correct me if i'm wrong but if the pipes are hotter gases don't flow as well? maybe its the other way around.

Well.....the higher the heat inside the pipe the higher the velocity, the more power you're getting. If the heat escapes the primaries, the velocity gets lower, the less the flow. It's all physics stuff.....but you want the gases to flow out as quick as they can, at the highest velocity, to do that you have to keep the heat in.

Also, it keeps heat from radiating to the intake, thus giving you more power.

just got the car today, and like those who posted before me, I can tell the difference right from the start and I love it!!!
But, does the Raspyness diminish after a while??? I know my SLP exhaust was a tad raspy for the first two months of driving it and now it went away

That's the thing with headers, the sound doesn't go away. It'll sound like that forever.

Is there any way I can make it less raspy? like getting resonator tips or something. I also noticed that It really only sounds raspy from inside, my wife took my car on an errand this morning and I listend to it as she drove away. It sounded like a little like my Fathers 1959 Fairlane when he had glass packs in.

You can get a resonator or something, like a Magnaflow round style. Won't restrict flow, just changes the sound.

That's what you have to expect when you get headers though, sound changes dramatically, some say for the worse. You don't get headers for the sound.

he has asserted his dominance over competing males with the loud masculine sound form his exaust system, Females searching for a potential mate will be driven away by weaker exaust systems and attracted to his SLP.

The raspiness will go away with a resonator but then its more restrictions, its up to you, you need to decide if you want performance or sound.

For those of you interested (I know Blackrider was), here is a PDF of the discussion from GMPowerTalk about the TOG headers from back in Dec 2001. As I was creating the PDF, I saw some familiar names that took part in the conversation....

http://www.60degreev6.com/hlperf/60V...%20Headers.pdf

Its 96 PDF pages, or 9 forum pages, and I think around 177 posts. But you will see where my sore spot for TOG came from.
