2.3HO intake on 2.4TC

I know there's some people here who have done this, and was wondering if anyone could give me a step-by-step. I was lucky enough to recently acquire a blown 2.3HO for free and want to do this mod. Not to mention a step-by-step walkthrough would help many other who want to get this done also. Thanks guys.

a few things to make this mod work...

ported polished head that matches as closely as possible to the 2.3HO manifold..

than someone is going to have to add a little bit of material to the 2.3HO manifold so you can get an exact match to the head.

also you have to redrill and slot out some of the bolt holes on the 2.3HO manifold to match up to the 2.4L head bolt pattern dilly....

it's not an easy modification.

Once you get all that junk its cake.

After the install, youll have to also find a way to move back the battery, or simply run your intake straight down from your Throttle Body. I moved my battery back about 5 inches, and am now able to run an intake pipe right straight from the TB to my filter which sits where the battery used to.

Also, the head matching is VERY IMPORTANT. I had no idea about that when I threw mine on that I got from APOC. Slowed me down nearly .5 seconds in the 1/4 mile!!! Ill be purchasing a new flange for it (made by mantapart) prior to spring that should help a bit.

There a very good how too but it fails to mention what spy just said the ports on the 2.3 are already the size of the 2.4 but the 2.3 are oval 2.4 bean shape now if you just start porting the 2.3's to make it bean shape youll screw things up real fast so what you have to do is weld a bead in the 2.3's port then match it to the 2.4 now here is the guide

The flange is the way to go. No porting errors to worry about.

I've heard of people slowing down by .5 or more in the 1/4 because of a bad port job.

Thanks guys! Talk about in depth! It's much appreciated. I agree on that mounting flange. Thaat looks sweet. But from what I remember about mantapart, they used to be loooooooooooooooooooong in shipping. Ah well. Maybe i'll just wait until spring to do the mod. Hopefully the part will be here by then.
Seriously though, has mantapart gotten better with their shipping times? If so, I just might have to order this.

If it's in stock you get it right away. if it's not in stock you're waiting for them to either produce it or for the third party to get it to them. it's not soo bad.

How is it a pain in the ass? I did both the cams and the intake. It really wasn't as big of a pain in the ass as you would think. You just have to be careful and do everything properly on reassembly.

I duno my car sounds the same....
