So for our cars being the ground issue. You HAVE to buy ballast covers dont you?

Also for the HID clan where are you guys mounting your ballasts? I kind of want mine to show for carshows so people know i have HID's but i dont want them in a place where engine heat is going to get to them.

I was going to mount mine in the engine bay. Yes, you need a ballast cover so the unit does not touch the metal of the car.

you could wrap your ballasts in elec tape or something, but ballast covers are definitely the way to go. Just cant let your ballasts touch metal. Hella Ballasts have just enough cord to mount in the empty space behind the headlights (kindof right behind the outtermost turn signal bulb, think its a 194). You could prolly get one right infront of the battery on the pass side if you did some drilling though.

Mine came with 2 sided Tape that about 3MM thick, I just used that and it keeps them clear of the Frame

ick, definately have to keep them inside of the engine bay then, im sure water and dirt and ballasts dont mix. I know what you mean about all the dirt and crap though i have some of my strobe modules installed down there and they are quite dirty as well.

Thanks for the help guys.

My kit works, so do others, it looks good, and it was relatively inexpensive. How do your HIDs and your projectors work Panacea??? Ohhh that's right.. You don't have any. I think the only one that can actually comment on such a subject with some relevant experience would be Dave.

HIDforum is not the word of god.. If you feel it is then more power to you, at least give everyone here some well-rounded information, instead of "everything but HID projectors are gay, HIDs in stock housings suck, I still have halogen lamps but I still know what I'm talking about"
Actually, I have my buddy to help me with my information... He's got 4100k d2s bulbs in his acura and it looks a hell of a lot better than the kits... Also, he gets a lot of his info from people who have done this many a times on the acura forum he goes to. And, well, hate to say it, but I feel they're a lot more knowledgeable about HID's than anyone on here.

SC/T, if you're looking for all the parts (cept the bulbs) I can try to get you into contact with a guy on the Acura forums who has done numerous installs and get (I believe) brand new OEM parts. Lemme know if you're interested and don't want to hassle with e-bay.

well these are what im wanting:

2 Valeo ECE spec D2S projectors.

2 Hella generation III ballasts.

2 Philips 85122 D2S HID bulbs (4300K).

The only place i could find these is
http://hidtech.com/product.descriptions/1064769979.htm
Not sure on the price because those are the H7 projectors and i want the D2S projectors but I guess they have them and they arent on their site.

But these are the ones everybody has been raving about and im wanting the vibrant blue/purples. With the awesome flicker effect.

But if he can get those for a good price let me know !

Also do you know if he can get projector shrouds/enclosures...? If i can find some nice ones pre-made for cheap ill jump on them- would be easier than making some.

SC/T I don't think he has what you're looking for.

As for the ballast covers, I think they've been getting them off e-bay.

You won't have them very long anyhow....trust me.

P.S. You need to buy the correct tire size next time..or go up an inch in wheel size.
well Bob once again you were right:

wtf u talking about me? I dont hate hids, i have hids.

and yeah i will hate on those 12000k kits all day long. For reason number one NHTSB outlawed kits like that for a reason because goofballs slap those in there and dont know how to align them right caused glare which got tons and tons of complaints into the NHTSB and they outlawed them. 12000k is about the most pathetic kit you could buy for output and looks, OEM uses 4100/4300k for a reason. 12000k violet HIDs look nothing like OEM hids.

I dont know what you think about HIDforums but most of those guys on there know more about HIDS than you I, and everybody else on this forum put together know.

And futhermore im not a hater, i say nice stuff about peoples projects and cars when it is due, if you do something stupid and it looks like **** im not afraid to let you know, its that simple.

And no, normal legal headlights are not sufficient enough. I can't see **** when it's raining. By the way, I get no glare from most of the new OEM hid vehicles. And OEM hids are legal. I love HIDs!!! Give the lighting technology time to evolve and develop instead of bashing it. I hate that. Complain, complain, complain. It's a relatively new lighting source for automobiles.
this is by faR the best "light pic" i've seen....makes me drool....really......look at how neat all the light lines up against the fence.....damn......this is nice. And i thought my 9007 xenon superwhites were the brightest/sweetest option out there for our cars
