I'd rather have a Grand Prix than an Altima or Maxima.

*shrug*, I'd rather have a Grand Prix base/GT over an Altima and a Grand Prix GTP over a Maxima.

I'd rather have the Maxima over the Grand prix. N/A power from the Max.

Seriously though, I don't like the exterior design or the interior design of the new grand prix. Very ugly interior.

Boost is more fun, much more fun to modify. That's one reason why I prefer the Legacy GT over Max Alty and Prix.

Mythical, sure:

They have proven reliablity and durability. They run on average on a 7 year model cycle, then the whole car get redone. Honda engines have always been some of the best in the world, at their price point. Here is one for all the domestics: It has not changed names since it was introduced! There was never a need to reinvent the wheel or drag a name into the mud with fleet giveaways and de-contenting (Taurus, Sable, Intrepid, Lumina, GA, GP, the list gots on) then have to dredge up new name, because you ruined the orginals (meet 500, Impala, G6, etc.)

Honda has NEVER given a break and sold to fleets for bumping numbers in sales. The sales war between Camry and Accord is won by a few thousand units every year by Toyota. Toyota spikes the numbers to win by selling to fleets. Honda will not sell any of their product. There is a mythical side to Honda.

I don't want to buy Japanese. I root for America, but I am not going to stand behind a product I find deficient. I do belive 500 will be closest when it gets 250 horsepower in 2007. HOWEVER, buy one that year because FORD will ruin by de-contenting for profit shortly thereafter. I think you can kiss the painted mirror lids and nice seats goodbye after 2007.

IDK, the Maxima interior looks impressive in pics but I just wasn't that impressed in person. It's better than the GP GTP interior, but I prefer the GTP's exterior looks and power over the Maxima. Although it only ran low 15s in the 1/4, that's with an ECU that's doing everything it can to minimize wear on the tranny, lowering power/boost before shift points, limiting boost overall, etc. There's a lot of ground to be gained just off of ECU tuning before you even start on improving intake/exhaust flow and changing in a different pulley.

Plus I like how it has a sort of gyroscope yaw control over the brakes to keep the car from pulling one direction or another when hard stopping. For instance, they tested it while stopping with one side of the car on wet road and the other on dry, and when they slammed on the brakes, the computer kept the car from spinning out by adjusting the brakes, even though the traction on each side was severely different. I believe they did the same tests on the Maxima and although they maintained control, they said it was on the verge of spinning out and they were definately sweating after the whole experience was over with.

the cobalt

this is chevy's last try at the tuner industry. i think they missed out and made another comuter "cavalier". i think chevy should have further modified there cavalier line b/c everyone who owns a cavy now feels left out in the cold with no where to go. i know b/c i use to own one. i had a 97" 2.4L, i loved it it was a beast quick with pretty good torque. but after they just stopped with the cavy's i had to go to the grand am gt. to bad they didnt make it with a manual tranny. 3.4L V6.

Yes, but no 2 door for either.

I cannot see why the manufacturers refuse to put a limited slip (posi)in these cars! Dodge can do it for a 20,000ish SRT-4 and these guys can't do it for cars costing a lot more?

My opinion: Any FWD car with 200 horsepower should have limited slip(posi).

FYI posi and limited slip are not the same thing.

Agreed!

30,000 for V8 and RWD or FWD and a V6! However it is like compairing apples to oranges, because I wouldn't buy a 4 door car, unless I got a smoking deal on it. Of the 2 4 doors in my fleet, I paid a combined 4,000 for them.

Inaccuracies like that are irritating. Kind of like somebody talking about putting "NOS" on their car.
