oh and iceman that thread doesnt have it all. they don't count altitude corrections. so because I'm 4900 feet above most of the boost times on there I don't qualify.
I'll just have to hit a track in kansas or somthing

Yeah, this thread is pointless without altitude correction. I mean if we are going to play fair, at least play on the same damn ballfield!

thank you.
people dont realize how much altitude effects performance untill they come up here.

Wouldn't the only fair way to to do this be to list EVERYONE'S alititude corrected times?

my regular time is listed with a note of what I would run at sea level.
all actual times are posted first though

The variables involved in calculating to sea level are not universally applicable. It would not be the same for all cars, at sea level it may be impossible for the same car that can run 13's at 5,000 feet to reach say -12's, traction would be a lot harder to get at sea level... so you can't truthfully peg the number 100% via an equation. Just get down to sea level for a run!!!

I just wanted to talk to a few other people about the RSM kit because I have had the kit for about 2 months now and I just want to ask someone that has it some questions. I havn't been able to race it yet either which sucks since I have had it for so long and it is almost fall. I just been having alot of problems with my car.

I see you are form ohio. There is a event going on in michigan at Stanton/Mid-michigan Motorplex on the 18th of october. It is an event for grand am's and grand prixs. Its going to be a great time. We have the track for a day alone. It is being set up by MIGPC. You should see if you can make it out. Its gonna be cool and you could get a ton of runs in. Hope you at least think about it.

www.migpc.com has the info

Ok, I finally ran. Couldn't get traction to save my life, but I knew that would be an issue. 14.55@90.6mph at 2700ft, corrected to 14.11@93.3. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but not bad. BTW, that was with a 2.2" pulley, S&S, SLP, DHP, 62mm TB, CAI, and Nitto drag radials. Time for more mods...

Congrats, man. Good to see you finally got a run in. Look on the bringht side, I'm sure your track season in Cali isn't over like ours here in MI. You can always make another run if you're not happy with.

Anyone else think my trap speed was kind of low? Here's the rest of the slip...I'll get a pic in a few minutes.

Los Angeles County Raceway
10/25/03
9:29pm

reaction: .559
60': 2.014
330' 5.996
1/8th 9.262
mph 76.989
1000' 12.026

E/T 14.550
mph 90.621

I need to figure out what is going on in the last 1/8th. My trap should be alot faster. I know my 2-3 shift was really slow (maybe because I just put the pcm in that morning and only had 200 miles on it before racing). Or, maybe it was because I had to run the DRs at 23psi to get any traction. Or, maybe it's the huge wing on the back of the car acting like a parachute... At anyrate, those are a few things I'm looking into. I need to get it to a dyno to see what is going on with the car and what adjustments might need to be made with the pcm. What's next? Somebody please make more parts for these cars, as I'm running out of things to buy...
Rob

I tried launching everyway imaginable...I made 11 passes yesterday. Honestly, what worked best was to just do the biggest burnouts you can imagine...seriously just sit there and torch the tires until the car fills with smoke and you have to let off to get air. Then, at the light, ets off, in 3rd, rpms about 2k, mash it on green (2nd yellow, buy you know that). By the end of the night, traction was getting a bit better, but i had air pressure down to 23 and the huge burnouts, but the car was so heatsoaked that it was running 14.8's and 15.0's...what can you do? The ice was all gone and time was running out...so, just get in as many passes as you can.

By the way, the best time the GTPs could pull off was a 14.69. Mustang GT's were running 15 flat. The cobra was running low 13s. I wasn't really happy with the times, but I was happy with my kill list that included a 67 GTO with a 400, a mustang gt, and a GTP.
