I understand the negativity, but who knows? We once never had a set of aftermarket taillights, now we have 3 to chose from.

The ones on the autocross GA aren't even complete. They look pretty from the front, that's about it. The rest of the housing is not enclosed. I took some closeups in my philyl auto show pics if you wanna go look.

They'll eventually come out, but yes, I highly doubt they'd be HID. Too difficult for the average joe to install.

Oh well, no HID no go for me.

And Mike, I know they're on the Autocross... They aren't made for the public now are they? They may be in the future, but I wouldn't hold my breath, and also I'm gonna hate to see the $700-1000 price tag that will be on top of that!!! Sorry not worth it for halogen projectors!

yep there modified oem BMW angel eyes. I couldnt get them to fit stock if that makes any since so i had to modify them a hair to fit. The HID's i got at hidtech.com there the valeo projectors.

Yes the lighting rocks, the spread is soo awesome way brighter than the factory high beams and theres no hot spots or dim spots in the beam pattern. THanks for the complements ! Ive got more pictures but im not going to post them until i get this project complete. I dont have my led's for my angel eyes yet or anything.

IF GM does make projectors for the GA which I highly doubt they most certain wont be HID. THey will be a halogen projector that is simular to the new GTO projector = the suck.

So if you want projector that bad your going to have to get down and dirty with the GA headlight and retrofit OEM HID projector from another car into the GA headlight and ill tell you right now it sucks...

yeah im with you, why would they go the distance to even bother using a projector if its going to be halogen, or anybody for that matter. That is about the biggest waste of time ever known to man.

Unless you do it to be cool for looks and to say you have projectors. just dont turn them on at night .

Wow, I didn't mean to start up all this controversy on the projectors hehe. It was just a thought though. I tried lookin at those pics Seth and alot of them came up as X's for me, but i'll try again.

So, what do HID god's think, make a thread/sticky as the HID Database? I'm interested, and would sit and search, but why not let it be beneficial to all? I can compare this HID/price situation to what I deal with at work everyday selling Nextel. Its expensive, but its got benefits and its worth it. And me, really hating to be one to pinch the penny and regret it later, i'd like to investigate a little. And I can imagine there'd be alot less haters, and alot more HID users once we realized what was on the market and what was potential for affordable/worth it.

hidforum.com would be the best resource to get info conerning HIDs, projectors, cutoff, different kelvin ratings, retrofitting, and other good info. However, having some beneficial info here to get GA owners started isn't a bad idea.

A starters guide.

Trust me mike, money well spent when all is said and done.

Exactly. A starters guide. Its sorta like my saying "You can't experience something you don't have. And you can't have something you don't know how to get."

Theres no need for that when all the information is already where Vintalage pointed to.. that's where I'd point people too, I'm lazy. The other goodies have already been posted, people can search.

As far as an aftermarket product goes, yes I agree with you and I think that statement applies.

However stock w/ projectors and halogen can very nice. Mazda 6 for example - they work great.

I think you and Panacea need a hidforum break again

Hehe, okay fine, its a little of both. You're lazy to organize it, i'm too lazy to search and get confused over it.

Would this be an accurate statement? Everyone who has HID's on a GA is completely satisfied with them no matter what the kit or amount of lighting? Are there better or worse kits?

im satisifed with my hid kit but i will tell you this, if you are going to go hid and go all out I would definately recommend retrofitting an OEM projector into your headlight housing. Granted a step up to an hid conversion is 10x better than halogen bulbs but a step up to a projector hid conversion is even 10x better than that. Esp if your wanting preformance.

Ill try to snap some pictures out on a dark highway just to show you the spread on my lights, its insane.

This might scare some people away but to do a hid projector retrofit you have to cut into your headlight = cut a big hole into the back of the headlight to fit the projector into. Then make or buy a shroud to cover the projector and do any other finishing work necessary to make the project as OEM as possible.
