Ok, one more question. What's the minimum the rear rotor can be machined down to? I heard .410" Can anyone confirm this?

it should be on the rotor itself, I have an extra set of factory rear rotors that look to be in very good shape if you wanted them. there is no edge from where the pads would rub against meaning that the car has low miles. let me know

Here's another question for you guys... does anyone know for sure whether or not the Grand Am SE drums are the same used on the Jbodies? If so, I could save a ton of money on my conversion...

Dunno about that, I think the j bodies have a different bolt pattern.

Thats what everyone says, but when I look at mine, its on the inside, and half the number is cut off. That's how the rotor was manufactured. Looks like 00. Even the guy at checker with his super spectacles on couldnt read it. If someone has a good print and can read it, please do so. I might take you up on those rotors snow man, Where u from?

Different bolt pattern isn't a problem for me... my rims have a 10 hole setup... it'll fit 5X100 OR 5X114.3

My question is, are the connections for the SE drums (brake system) the same or close to it (not counting bolt pattern) as the Js... I dont know if anyone has tried this before...

Ironically, I DO have a GAGT I can pull one of the braking systems off of and at least attempt it

Big difference isnt it. the car brakes much more even not as much nosedive, I also imagine this is why I was going through so many rotors on the front because the rears dont do anything at all.

If I decided to order the parts for the conversion from GM Parts Direct (http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/), what are all the parts I need?

I'll probably just go the junkyard way. What do I ask for when I call? Both rear disc hub assemblies from a 99+ GAGT?
