No, my comments weren't directed at you specifically, but I wish some would realize that...

Anyhow, I have always thanked people that have helped. And I still do. We didn't fall through on the limiters. I was trying to move too fast and between DP and myself decided that we wanted the tranny done and the mounts done. Then we would get the limiters done. Personally I wanted them done sooner, but sometimes you have to deal with other people's schedules. If it were up to me I would have the tranny in, tuned and ready to race.

That was my point. There happens to be more aftermarket support now to make the turbo production more feasible, hence why the HPP project actually came to be what it is today. Either way, both efforts deserve merit.

PHANTOM: Congrats, you've done a lot for the community, and I am thoroughly impressed. Go to the track when it's done and post times, I'll congratulate you again if you beat my fastest time

Hmm... sounds like a line of BS to me. And yes, I might have help insigate it some, but this is what started it. Someone that gave up and moved on (which is fine) is talking trash AGAIN.

I was responding to that.

When will your car be race-ready? I'm honestly excited to see what comes of all this.....even though I don't have the Grandma any more I'm really hoping to see someone break into the 12's....and I think you might just be the first one to do it.

I've always appreciated what Phantom's done. He really needs to post track times though....

I can remember John (Aleroboy) always posting times during his projects...and that's very appreciated in the community. It shows his progress, and gives other people a goal to shoot for....all around promotes good healthy competition and most importantly progression in the aftermarket for the vehicle.

I'm honestly thinking more and more every day about selling the Xterra, buying a pos'd '00 SE with high miles, building a motor and tranny for it, boosting the snot out of it....given the right work the car has more potential than most will give it credit for, I miss that aspect of it.

I'm working on it. I just punched it and the way home... and the transmission just ins't up to the task. I'm sitting on 7 psi of boost (after the cam and head install it started making only 7 psi.... I didn't want to increase it again until I hit the dyno) and I'm just spinning at around 4000 RPM and not really accerating, then booom.... I'm hauling ass all the way to redline. The torque converter is shot, either that the clutch packs are. I'm not sure what. I PROMISE that as soon as I can get that new tranny and and program I WILL go the track at the EARLIEST possible chance I get.

And guys, don't think I don't apprieciate this type of discussion. It ****es me off when we get someone slamming me or anyone that is expanding the market. I have good dyno numbers, and that is the best I can provide right this minute. Although, I do have to say that HPP kit borrowed some design tips from the header companies. I will never deny that we got help from numbers of sources, such as DHP, TOG (indirectly), APoC, if you recall, many members of this board had feedback information on injectors, spark timing, etc. I by no means did this all myself, but I did put up the capital and spent a lot time on research.

I have always given my thanks to those who deserve it.... such as Bzopi, Pat, John, Seth, and a few others.... just don't burn my ass on defeatist comments like a "GA's can't be fast."

And last but not least.... Pace you are right on one thing... with my current transmission it is a dyno queen. I know it. That's why I need a new transaxle, so I can put all that power where it belongs. Hence why I haven't been to the track.....

[edit] Pace: I love you.
You open the trunk and there are instructions on how to fit 2 golf bags in the trunk of a 350Z. I'm not exactly sure how much it was really designed to race with a feature like that. It still is a much better starting point than a GM FWD car though, thats for sure. They definitely look sweet though.

For some reason i think any car with instructions on how to put anything in the trunk is a car meant to race! They obviously didnt design it to be easy to use the trunk and didnt really give a damn what is going in it, spent to much time designing the drive train and suspension!

Considering there's two 350z's in the 10's, and plenty on the road race courses right now.....I think they were built to race.

you guys tryin to say that a naturally aspirated car that out performs its previous twin turbo version sports car is not built to race.... just add boost to the 350Z.... you are gonna see 12's and 11's! a 13.6-13.9 second car with a 3.5 ltr v6! wow.
they may not look pretty as the G35's but they run great.... i saw one smoke the dog doo out of an s2000! from a dig and roll! (track of course)

did get beat by a small block gmc jimmy with slicks...just barely.

built to race..... yeah...just like the vette, and the cobra, and the wrx...... built to mod? naaaah.... the grand am is a modders car... it takes mods and runs with them....unless you drop some cash a 350 will not gain from the usual heads, intakes, exhaust etc.... you need boost. The motors are pretty much maxed out. UNLIKE THE GRAND AM GT"S!!!!! Keep modding!

I made lots of 13 sec passes you clown. 13.86 was just my best. You are really hurting my feeling by using your computer slang to call me names..... All I was saying is that you don't earn props by spending $. You earn it by running timeslips. Once you do that I will make a thread specifically just to congradulate you- and it will be sincere. I'm just sick of hearing "I'm going to do this and that....." Got off the focking internet and just do it then you focking clown.

just curious... since ECAP no longer exists... what mods did you have??
other than nitrous.... a 13.86 is nice.... stock w/ borlas i ran a 14.3 with an 85 dry shot......

i am sure if i removed the dhp and put the kit on i would be running comparable times. but i really dont care what my top nitrous et is....

i would rather have a fast streetable car .

mods?
