I'm not claiming that the Pistons will win the NBA Finals. After we murder the Pacers tonight we will progress to the Finals. It will be an entertaining Finals though! We killed the Lakers in Detroit twice in the regular season. so I bet we could steal a few games.

Pistons could steal a game, but this is way different then the regular season.Lakers have been known just to play well enough in the regular season just to get in the playoffs as to save some energy for when it really matters.
I think the Lakers will win in 5 at the most against either team from the East.

We'll see. I don't think it will be as big of a "blow-out" as some are saying. Lakers may be predicted to win- and very well may......but the Piston's will cover the spread. So if you are going to put money on the series you will lose if you bet Lakers.

The Lakers might not cover the spread, but winning by 1 point is really all that matters.I am just glad that Malone and Payton will be getting a ring for all they have done in their careers, especially Malone.
At least after this season there is hope for the rest of the NBA to win an NBA title and end the Laker dominance of the NBA for a little while because with the Lakers having so many fa's and possibly losing Kobe, they will be on the downside for a few years.

i think the pistons are fully capable of stealing one of the first two in LA and then winning 2 of 3 at home to go up 3-2 heading into the last two games at LA.

They have no chance to win in L.A.,they are not as good as the T-Wolves and they only won 2 games. The best the Pistons can hope to do is get at least 1 win to make it somewhat respectable. They still have to get past the Pacers first though!I think they will, but it could go either way.

I think the Pistons will match up well with LA. The Pistons have a great D and that is what has gotten them this far. Kobe won't be able to drive to the hole as much because the Wallace boys will be there to send his shot to the crowd. Shaq hasn't played all that well either. I would like to see the Pacers win and go to the finals but I think the Pistons have a better chance at beating the Lakers.

Pistons have WAY more reliable weapons than the wolves do. KG can't do everything.... and thats what killed them.... well that and Casell being hurt most of the series. It's gonna be a good one... I hope

Detroit doesn't have scorers like the Wolves had!Spree,Wally, and KG.What do the pistons have as far as scorers, that can do it consistently?Hamilton, that's it.

the pistons are actually a TEAM. they dont have one big scorer they depend on every night to carry them. theres no all-star. they all play together and it isnt "each to their own" like the lakers or twolves, the points spread out evenly to every player most of the time. the pistons dont depend on and rally around one or two key players to make their shots.

with detroit's defense, they dont need to score too many points anyways. the pistons have been setting defensive records all season long and during the nets series they kept them to franchise playoff lows in points twice. like posted earlier in the lakers thread, kobe wont be goin to the hole everytime and slamming down on big ben, prince, okur or even sheed. the pistons bench is very deep, with capable players who can not only score when it counts the most, but that play incredible d.

There is a huge difference between L.A. and the Pacers! Detroit has no answer for Shaq and Kobe. I'd rather have a team like the Lakers that can score and play defense rather than just play defense like Detroit!

Congrats to the Pistons on the win.Looks like the series will be better than the experts and I thought.Billups played a hechuva game!GREAT TEAM DEFENSE!!
Some other players will have to pick up their games for the Lakers......Shaq scores 34 with over 10 rebounds and Kobe 25 and we still lose!
