vibration at idle

My car has a vibration at idle. I can feel it more when I am in drive with my foot on the brake, it kind of pulses, the rpm's dont move at all they stay at 650. what would cause this it also has a vibration while just idling in park as well just not as bad. I just changed the plugs and no difference.

thanks

I had a vibration like that when I had headers. The rear header was touching the EGR pipe. Maybe something is touching yours?

I had the same thing. Turned out to be an EGR Tube problem.

Well it has something to do with exhaust gases. Part was like $70 or something. Not covered under warranty by the way. How to replace it and where it is at????????????

The dealership discovered it when doing all the gaskets for the second time last week. Upper, lower, valve cover, head all new now as well as the intake manifold (cracked)

Thank god for extended warranty. Without it I would have trashed this car a long time ago but now all the common problems are all fixed and or replaced and cross my fingers for 200,000 miles. Yeah right. I just want it paid off and no car payments.

The EGR tube is located behind the engine near the exhaust manifold.

Maybe you're missfiring. My car ran a little rough at idle, turned out cylinder 2 was missfiring due to a clogged fuel injector.

Take it to the dealer and have them run that fuel injector cleaner directly through the fuel rails.

WRONG..................NEVER GIVE THE DEALER A DIME YOU DON'T HAVE TO!!!!!!!!!!

Let me clarify.....NEVER spend a dime in the service department.....

ONLY spend at the parts counter....IF YOU CANNOT GET IT AT ANY OTHER PARTS STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Take it to a local mechanic you trust...............

I belive you can expect to pay NO MORE THAN 100 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you shop you should be able to get it down from there.....maybe 60-80 dollars...........If you are mechanically inclined....shop around I scored a fuel injector cleaning kit for 60 dollars......at napa i believe........If you got this route......make such to buy 3m fuel injector and upper intake manifold cleaner (or something like that)......I find it work best.........Connect kit line to fuel pressure test port.......disconnect fuel injector fuse............connect can.......open up the line......start car....let run until it dies out (no more fuel injector clean in can of 3m).......dissconnect everything.......put fuse in.......and start car....ready to roll........ber warned, if you embark on this yourself the exhaust will smell very wierd while the can of 3m is running through it....normal......good luck either way......
