ok finally figured out...the 2004 gto with mike will never work. its not like its even a peave that applies to ther gm vehicles it seems. just the gto. so chrysler, dodge, ford, chevy...doesnt matter. its just is the gto that sets him off. anyway, onward. mike, sadly i hope you know the lead designer (90% sure) for the aztec was the lead designer (again 90% sure) for the C6...i know its the same guy, just not exactly the role. brilliant people like that are allowed mistakes. but it seems gm is getting better. i read 2 articles today on gmi that stated how bob lutz and the solstice team are against badge engineering. ie rebading a saab as a caddy for europe market.

Never mind mike, you totally missed the point. Talking to you is like talking to a brick wall.
Oh, and btw it was not faster than a 99+ GA.... A 56 (which had a V8 w/210hp, and weighed about 300 lbs less only did the 1/4 in 15.8 seconds. THerefore you don't know what you're talking about.) Proof? http://100megsfree4.com/corvette/1950/vet56.htm Last edited by Panacea; 06-10-2004 at 10:37 AM. |

Who was the first to contradict me?
If you're talking about jake, not really, cause it was slow. It was slower than all the other European cars that the vette was supposed to be competing with. The reason the vette was created was to compete with the euro cars. WHy? Cause the GI"s were bringing them back with them after WWII and America had to top them. You are right, I did misread what you wrote. But then again you could very well be wrong as well. Prove the 1/4 time for it. I've yet to see anything on it. Also, it would not be a fair comparison considering the V6 was producing 223 lbs of torque. |

If you were someone else this wouldn't be sufficient to end it, you come up with some personal attack and try to argue more. Point is that the Corvette is still what it always was, the great American Sports Car. The GTO now is a joke and gets put in it's place by a frickin Mustang and can only slightly better the performance of a $21,000 Neon SRT4... it also isn't selling well and despite heavy spending for advertising etc... it isnt gaining much attention or respect. I like GM but hate the new so called "GTO" end of story. They goofed again, I know I am not the only one who thinks so, the lack of sales prove that I'm not the only one that has this opinon that they are more than entitled to. Let's see how the Charger sells/performs or does not sell/perform and have this discussion. |

Can anyone confirm if they will or won't make a 2 door whatever (coupe/sedan). I don't like 4 door anything.

Have to wait and see... Haven't heard any other news, just the concepts with 2 and 4 doors. My guess is that they will make both. |

Dodge unveils sketch of new Charger, car to bow at '05 Detroit show
Dodge has confirmed with this first sketch that it aims to again recreate some of the company's early muscle-car magic conjured by the Charger name. The 2006 Charger, a stout and roubust four-door that carries a rakish roof line and the large, egg-crate face of the company's performance car and truck division, also replaces Dodge's Intrepid NASCAR entry. It looks "almost like a four-door coupe" said Dr. Dieter Zetsche in an exclusive interview on Friday. The Charger will debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2005, and is expected to enter showrooms in the spring of 2005. True to its power image, it will carry with it the much-vaunted, 340-hp Hemi engine under the hood as an option. Its base engine is expected to be a 3.5-liter V6 making 250 horsepower.
