HELP! SES code P0107 (MAP/baro input low)

alright, so i got a SES code, i read it, and it comes back as P0107.something like Manifold Absolute Pressure / Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input ????? does anyone know what in the world this means, or what caused it, or what will fix it, cuz i sure dont want to take it to the dealer just over a crazy sensor, but i need help ASAP, cuz this code makes the tranny slam hard into drive and shift like sh*t

Do the 3400's even have a MAP sensor?

Here's some info from the gm service manual:

DTC P0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Circuit Low Voltage

Conditions for Setting the DTC
No TP sensor DTCs present.
Engine running.
Throttle angle above 0%, if engine speed is below 1000 RPM.
Throttle angle above 10%, if engine speed is above 1000 RPM.
The MAP sensor signal is less than 12.1 kPa.

Diagnostic Aids
Check for the following conditions:
Monitor the MAP sensor using the scan tool. If the MAP sensor does not respond to throttle changes, check the 3X circuits from the ignition control module to the PCM. If the 3X signal is lost the PCM will only update the MAP sensor reading once per key cycle, when the engine is first started. Depending on where the MAP sensor voltage (high voltage or low voltage) is when the engine is started, the high or low voltage MAP sensor DTCs will set.
Poor connection at PCM. Inspect harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, and poor terminal to wire connection.
Damaged harness. Inspect the wiring harness for damage. If the harness appears to be OK, observe the MAP display on the scan tool while moving connectors and wiring harnesses related to the sensor. A change in the display will indicate the location of the fault.

this means that one of these conditions is what caused the SES light right? i dont really understand what each of them mean though

Scan tool = this or this. Something that will show you a live data stream.

Sounds like all of them or all and either #s 3 or 4.

From reading the manual info, unless you've got some problems with PCM connections/wiring harnesses or a even a PCM that's crapping out on you, my best guess is that it's a bad MAP sensor--but don't hold me to that. I leave this kind of detailed diagnostic stuff to the pros.

If you're familiar with a multimeter try this... with the ignition off, disconnect the MAP sensor connector. Turn the ignition on, leaving the engine off. Measure the voltage from pin C (the grey wire I think) to ground. You should see 5 volts.

If that's ok, connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire from pin C to pin B and see if the voltage stays at 5 volts.

Also, check the vaccuum source at the map for leaks/breaks/restrictions.
