It's not 0.3 seconds quicker. There are GAGT's that run from 15.9 down to 15.2 for a freaky factory freak. And there aren't many factory freaks either. A good driver in a Type S will be running high 14's.

Realistically if an average GAGT is running 15.7 or 15.8. That means you need mods to cut out a full second to comfortably pass a Type S. Also an intake isn't magical enough to drop 0.3 seconds alone.

Okay my bad! My air intake made a 0.2 of a second difference. The RSX Type s was rated anywhere from a 15.2 to 15.5 depending on what source you look at(i.e. road and track/car and driver and so on) and the grand am was any where from a 15.6 to 15.8 when I looked last time(which was a while back)

if you are looking at magazine times, I believe one of them tested a GAGT a long time ago with 16.0 or 16.1 seconds. Magazine drivers are always slower than the real thing.

Well I have yet to see a GAGT run a 16.0 time in a mag. I ran stock a 16.4 at 3500 ft elevation with a DA(denisty altitude) of an average of 5000ft and correction to sea level on that is the equivelant to a 15.6 or so. I just know what I have seen from personal track experience.

hmm, I guess this is why the mods don't like any conversations involving racing, since everyone has a different opinion and nobody will agree

take a listen to mine with FLOWMASTER and absolutely no resonators, 2.5in pipe and a magnaflow cat converter and you would think it's a much bigger engine than a 3.4Lv6, seriously, people have asked me if the motor is bigger than what it says...

definitely not a ricey honda noise, hell no

Well according to this site an RSX Type S will run between 14.8's and 15.3's with I/H/E. Gee those times with those mods seems pretty close to whoes? Ah yes the GAGT with the same mods. RSX Type S is no faster than a GAGT or SE.

Maybe its cheaper for them to do those mods. But again they are just another modded import.

he has asserted his dominance over competing males with the loud masculine sound form his exaust system, Females searching for a potential mate will be driven away by weaker exaust systems and attracted to his SLP.

my gagt will beat an rsx..... stock from a dead stop....

that is why they always want to run you from a roll!! no torque... they are horrible from the line... but once they are going 30 they pull pretty hard... My Grand am pulls from zero but of course is weaker than the rsx up top! i usually beat them bad on the 8th mile.. and at the 1/4 it is pretty close. if we were to race to 100 mph they would definately win! 2.4 60 ft?? no torque!

from the rsx website:

"My best time that I ran(at lacr at 3k in elevation) was a 15.4(14.9 at sea level) w/out my sportlines(havent even installed them yet) and my mods listed. I had my stock fronts at 25 psi and rears at 45 psi. Temperature was at 55 degrees. My 60 was a 2.4xx, dont remember exactly. I know if i go again with my sportlines, ill get better times along with launching at 4k and dumping with fronts at 20 psi and rears stock pressure(what allenp told me). My goal with my setup that i have now is a 15.2(14.7 at sea level)@ lacr
If i go to California Speedway(1100 in elevation) with low temps, i could have a chance to get 14.6.........2240 race weight
......

"
