TYC has told me that the new improved harness is being made by a different manufacturer. They said they are to be done by end of this week and and they will send them to customers. It's frustrating. I got pulled over for burnt tailight and the cop unfortunately walked up to front to give me a ticket for no front plate. But I only got a warning ticket about the taillight. It's my fault to drive with no front plate. But I think these tails look SO AMAZING and it's well worth the wait for new harness. You guys make sure you contact TYC for new haness when whey are done.

Man that sucks. I just ordered the chrome ones for my wifes red 02. The guy seems very cool and when I questioned problems with the lights he said he was aware of it and would correct any problems we may have. Good Luck!

Thanks for the email for TYC jeff. As for an update on my taillight. I mailed TYC but just had a guy I work with fix it. He used to be a car mechanic back in his day (he's 62 now, and a unbelieveable mechanic, smarter than ****). If anyone else has this problem you can fix it by yourself. Take the bulb out of the socket and use a flat file to shave down the bottom of the black piece that the actual bulb goes into.. because what is happening is that the black piece is too long so when you push it into the socket it can only go so far, causing it to not grab on the clips that are supposed to hold it in. Anyway, if you don't understand what I mean, just PM me or something and I'll get more into detail. But anyway, for now its fixed and even if they send me the part I MAY not even switch it.. but who knows. Now I just have to go to the police station to have them just check the light over to show them it works and they have to sign something. I just can't believe that the cop pulled me over (not kidding) less than 50 feet from my driveway! oh well, he was extremely nice about everything. thanks again jeff..pz

hooby

p.s. What would happen if you got a ticket for the bulb being out, since it's TYC's fault for the malfunction, would they pay for the ticket???

As I said before, TYC is working on new harness. They are supposed to be done by end of this week at the earliest. They will e mail me back when they are ready. I also got pulled over for burnt out tailight but it was only a warning. But the ****ing cop walked to the front to see if I had a front plate. I got a $30 ticket because I didn't have one. It's my fault not having a front plate. Yes this is irritating. I have had many people tell me one of my tails is out even if I know it. I had a guy with stock 99+ V6 SE chase me just to tell me my tailight is out. The little tabs inside the sockets are too loose to hold the bulb. The bulb would come off and get into the tailight.

Hey Hooby, Glad things worked out. As it turns out I decided to check mine this morning and yes the drivers side was out. Pulled the bulb out and put it back in tight and it seems ok for now. Definatley gotta file down the socket like you said so it sits in better. Can't take no chances of getting pulled over. I'm afraid the Pittsburgh cops wouldn't be as understanding.

jeff,

so you filed the bulb down like i said and it worked.. good! strange little things huh? but they work. I also emailed TYC and said the are gonna send something asap like everyone else had said. but no one has still answered my question from my last post. Like me and a few others on the site they had gotten warnings or whatever. but what were to happen if you got a ticket for the bulb being out, would TYC pay for it, or would TYC say that we should have noticed the bulb not working and then should have not used the tails? just a strange question isn't it. hey.. this is totally off topic but this commercial came on last night while I was at my girlfriends house. Has anyone see the Dairy Queen commercial for the new DQ Moolatte? Its where two "doctors" are sitting in a room and a lady is on the otherside of the table. They ask her to choose between two lattes and decide which one is better (she has a blindfold on, remember that!). She drinks the normal latte first and then the Moolatte second and she loves it! The doctor then reaches his arm out to grab the Moolatte back from the lady (remember she still has a blindfold on) and somehow she knows that his arm is there and pulls away! How does she know that his arm is there and so why does she pull away???? its pretty funny if you think about it! anyone care to explain the commercial??

also, i own my own graphic design business. I do not have a website up yet, but would love to make some graphics for anyone interested. Usually people go and pay anywhere between $30-$50 for a windshield sticker. I would make it cheaper! I just want to know if there is anyway someone would want to work something out with me so that we trust each other and i can cut vinyl and get payment for it. If anyone is interested PM me or something, or just write back to me on this topic! If you want samples of my work go to my cardomain page.

I dunno about other state, but I just got a warning fix it ticket in Iowa. I don't pay anything. I just have 20 days to get it fixed and turn the ticket in. I think this is a common problem for all the tailights they sell. They were already aware of it when I first E mailed them.

Hey Hoobie, No I haven't filed down the socket yet. I just pulled the bulb out and stuck it back in good and tight. Let's hope it stays that way. My wifes chrome lights should be here tues or weds. Don't need any more vinyl, but I will keep you in mind if I know anyone that wants something special. Good luck with it. I thought of you last night when the DQ commercial came on. Yep you're right, she pulls away before being touched. Stupid commmercial...

As it turns out, TYC has temporarly stopped selling these lights due to the loose bulb situation. I had ordered the chrome for my wifes car and when I called to inquire about a tracking number I was informed they put everything on hold until this is resolved. I finally got mine fixed again today, I hope. You need to shove something down in the side of the socket to firm it up against the bulb. Or as Hooby did, file the socket edges down so the bulb seats farther down in.
Oh well the wife loses out until this issue is corrected. Got Mine.

^ Man those pics look great. Black on black is perfect. If only there was a way to get rid of the chrome ring around the lenses and make the turns amber (I really like amber turns on a car, changes things up). I still may have to buy these though.

Yea, enjoy the tails you lucky bastad. I ordered em, and recieved the wrong ones.. now for the exchange, they say they are having troubles finding an available pair of what I wanted... ridiculous. They will be mine soon though, oh yes... they will be mine.

About the chrome rings.. I think they look better with them. They bring together the back end with the reverse lights and overlays. Im gonna get those same overlays for my doors soon... tommy likey.
