I thought you knew about cars, obviously you don't. Plastic underbelly pans are used to help flow air under the car as opposed to letting it "bounce" between the road surface and up into the recesses of the undercarriage. It improves handling and stability, especially as speed increases. Maybe you should read "aerodynamics 101"

farzy, a base C6 is going to be about $50k. Therefore $60k for a Z06 is about right.

maybe you shouldnt take my sarcastic remarks as a measure of my intelligence

obviously the plates are there for yadda yadda ... my first comment was geared towards people wanting to keep those and still have an aftermarket exhaust, why cut it up for a more or less purely cosmetic purpose ("dual exhaust").

Why the huge price increase with the c6? I thought they had a good thing going with the current price its somewhat affordable and its one of the last american muscle cars.

It's called the first year redesigned boner.

When looking for the GMS price on GTO's I came across some Vette boards where people were looking for dealers to accept C6 orders at GMS. Lets say there are a ton of dealer's out there that not only wouldn't do it, but are marking up the C6's just like the GTO was. Some dealer in NYC is going to be the first to get a C6, they had their "slot to be the first buyer" up for auction on eBay. They had a startng bid at like $10k I think

Looks like a bit over 43k for the base, a bit over 51 for the convertible.

I'd say 10% get a strictly base model.

$43,445 + $4360 + $800 = $48605

$48,605 + $500 (title/tags/prep) + $2430 (5% sales tax) = $51,535
*don't forget a possible $1000 gas guzzler tax*

new vettes with similar options do not cost a whole lot more than 04s ... i mean with options and tax and all that it's always been a $50k car new, and you can get MSRP very easily if you don't listen to crap from your local dealers about paying $10-15 grand over.

GMS is another story, but you can find that too if you know where to look btw no gas guzzler tax on the vette, it gets 18/29 mpg ...

It definitely has split dual exhaust. If you turn the brightness settings up on your monitors you can see the other one.

^ Agreed. Much better than the current body style.. Too bad concepts never come out exactly the way they're shown.

Okay this may seem dumb but would someone buying a car in a sales tax free state still pay sales tax on a car? I know I dont pay taxes for a tshirt, but its alittle different buying a car and I figured the gov't probably makes tax on large items. Sorry for my ignorance as I just took over the payments on this car from my parents when I was in HS.
