Thats good news. So if both sensors have the same output you should be able to use either one as long as the wiring harness is correct for your year car right? That would mean mine should work fine. I switched to an '03 sensor and already modified the wiring harness with a new plug and a home splice job. It should start right up then. And if I have any knock or mis-fires at idle I should be able to fix them with my powrtuner. I already intended to up the idle speed a tad.

correct, the only car who will need a different sensor would be the 94-99's.

so for us 99's the signal is not the same? how difficult is it to swap the sensor. So the Casper's connector is going to be required?

the sensor needs removed to remove the cam, and is easily replaced once you put the cam back in. you'll need the sensor for an 00-02, this retails for around 50 bucks at your local dealer. The Casper's harness will make this sensor a plug and play unit for your car. i will be selling the cam sensors on my site for about 40, and the casper's harness for around 25.

How do you get rid of the misfires at Idle?

I upped my idle to 875 and that seems to work really well, but can't figure out how to get rid of the misfires.

The only kr I got was due to the torque management (at 100% TPS, none at idle). Decrease this and your KR will go away.

I believe you wanna look at VE. If you adjusted your MAF based on the LTFT at idle, you may wanna revert those changes.

you have a cam, you're going to have misfires at idle. that's what the overlap is doing.

I'm sure if you adjust the idle high enough and play with the other pcm settings there should be a way to get rid of it. I haven't started tuning the computer yet so I don't know how yet. I wouldn't think you'd want to leave it like that though because the pcm usually records misfires and trouble codes, and will set the SES light if they are bad enough and frequent enough. I don't know if mine will misfire as bad either since it's stage1 instead of stage2. Yet another reason I recommend most people go with stage1. Because otherwise you lose some drivability and it practically requires custom computer tuning. Everyone always says they want stage2 though because they want to have the big bad engine setup or something.

Most of the GP folks seem to just disable P0300... Talk to a GP owner with an XP cam...

I think my idle is as high as I want to go. I'll try messin' with some other settings to see if it helps, but it isn't an issue. I'll disable the 300 code so the SES doesn't come on.

As for losing driveability, I'm not sure I understand. Aside from misfires at idle, there isn't much difference below 35% throttle (I modified this ). Gas mileage remains the same until I start hitting 100%.

As for custom tuning, anyone running boost or a cam should have some tuning done. There's so much available in our cars which is taken away from the conservative tuning done from the factory. Questionable on the stage I but definitely the stage II. However, I would recommend custom tuning (if it is affordable) to a car with just a CAI.

Also, not sure what is wrong with wanting 'the big bad engine setup'. I'm hoping to have that

yeah, definately disable this code if you have the means. every car we do a pcm for with a cam, we are removing this DTC.

yeah. i thought i posted this, but we have the solution for the problem. the 00-02 and 03+ cars will be able to retain their stock sensors and not use an adapting harness. the 94-99 cars will use a 00-02 cam sensor and the casper's harness. we will sell both of these on the site, the sensor for around 40, the harness for about 20. sorry the site isn't up yet, me and my web guy have different hours right now. i will get these items, and the cam install and head install kits online as soon as possible.
