until recently the only thing that was offered were regrinds. the only place to currently get off the shelf camshafts is through milzy motorsports/cammotion.
kyle any capable shop can change one, and believe it or not they probably already have instructions. this isn't anything new, ppl been swapping cams forever, just because its a 3400 instead of a SBC doesn't mean anything.

Because they are flat-tappet cams, not roller cams.

What would they need any special instructions for? All they are doing is replacing one cam with another. Other than the amount of work involved to get it out, it's really no big deal. Basic engine work... only thing you'd need is a manual with the torque specs and stuff. Any place that does engine work can do this.

According to AllData, a 3x00 cam replacement is set for 13.6 hrs, so at $50/hr look at $780.

oh and by the way guys, judging by the last 99 GA we did, and 2 96-99 monte carlos, i would say most of you will not need the cam sensor adapter harness that Casper's is making for us. all you'll need is the sensor

Ok so does that mean I would have to get a new cam sensor if I put a stage one cam in? I can't use the one that is in there already?

You might not need to dissable that code either if you get a stage 1. If it runs smooth enough at idle there will be no problem. Thats why I recommend stage 1 to most people. If you don't really know what you're doing as far as tuning's concerned, then it's much cheaper and easier than doing a higher lift and duration cam (ie stage 2).
