Stock for Stock the 2005 mustang GT WILL hang with a '04 GTO, it might not beat it but it will hang, not bad for a 4.6 vs a 5.7...i have stepped out of the mags and seen reality..browse the mustang forums if you get a chance and you will see for yourself
Also..Lets talk about a more comparible car for the GTO..say the cobra mustang...the current model is already capable of raping the '04 with relative ease and if/when the next model comes out it will be perfectly capable of raping the '06

That does not mean the GT is as nice a car as the GTO.

Personally i think the new stang is ugly, i have yet to see it in person but until then thats what i think
The new saleen may not be 'perfect' looking to you but it certainly isnt trash by any means and its funny how that comment came from an owner of a gase and gpgt

I and alll the GTO/F-Bod/Vette lover's laugh when the Mustang H0m0s bring up "the more comparable car is the Cobra" Errrrr, no dipsh1ts, that would be the Camaro SS/WS6/Z06/(GTO Judge when it comes out). The Cobra is not the baseline V8 of the Mustang series, it is a "special edition" sold in limited quantities and not purchased as much. This would directly correlate with the SS/WS6/Z06/Judge versions which are not the baseline V8's for that series.

What do I know though.......Mustangz 4 lifez niggaz!!

The new stang isnt much to look at with stock rims, but with a aftermarket set of 18" or 20" make it look much better.

Minus the Mustang for life comment, you are completely right. People need to realize this when making comparisons of these cars! I think the new Saleen looks pretty good minus that tail, and I really like the "Eleanor" kit on it!!

Sounds like ford dumped too much inty their 4.6L 3valve and now they are cramming it into everything why don't they expand it to like a 5.3 by just bore/stroking it or hit the enlarge button on the engineering computer... I am sure it would be somewhat proportionate and crank out lotsa power.

I kinda find it funny that people always bring up the cobra. Isnt the cobra supercharged? So how exactly is that stock? Just because it comes from the factory? ok ill give ya that. But you can throw a damn supercharger on any of these cars. Sorry but gimme a supercharged GTO over a cobra anyday thnx.

We bring the cobra up because its Ford's highh performance car, and were talking about GM's high performance car. And the fact that its factory supercharged makes it respond to mods much more other vehicles.

I saw the new stang at SEMA, the car looks pretty damn good up close in person. And the GTO I saw at SEMA well there's a 7.5L one running around, however it still looked bland as all hell. The only GTO that made me want to buy one was from Energy Suspensions booth, they had a GTO sitting there w/ nothing but Holden gear. now THAT made the car look legit.
