Pittsburgh has Cleveland and Cincy the next 2 weeks... Cowher says Duece will be playing for sure. They said he was 80% for the Eagles game, but because it was a non-division game, they'd give him the week off, even though Duece wanted to run against his old team.

The Pats did play a terrible game, but so did the Eagles. That why I don't think it just happened to be a bad game on the Pats' part. I think the Steelers just have a way of making teams make mistakes and then capitalize on them. The Pats are definitely still on top of the mountain in an elite group of teams, though.

The Steelers take on the Brownies again this Sunday, then the week after that they have the Bungles. Hopefully it will be two semi-easy games, but the Browns are playing fairly well as of late. We'll see what happens when the Black and Gold rush into the dog pound and pooch the pups. (That was an attempt at a play on words...don't mind me.)

What makes me laugh...is all these eagles and patriots fans say "the team was having a bad game...it happens" ... Okay...lets look back on history and see when the 2 top teams in the league got manhandled two weeks in a row.....no team ever beat two undefeated teams in a row that deep into the season. You ever stop to think that the teams were having a bad day because the defense was beating them? Remember...defense wins championships. Lets not forget the BS excuse that "if dillon was in the game it would've been different." Okay....lets look at that one...Steelers go into Philadelphia (7-0 at the time) without their starting running back....what happens...? THE BACKUP running back runs for 149 yards. The team as a whole runs for 250! One player doesn't make the team...if he does...then that's the coach's fault. Steelers had a backup at nose tackle and CB on defense and still only allowed Philly 3 points and only 113 yard total offense. Teams have "bad days" on offense fora reason......and that reason is the opposing team's defense. Patriots had to lose sometime....that's true....but why make excuses for them if you already knew that? The Eagles had no excuse!

They did have a bad game. They played about as bad as they are capable of. I'm not saying they would have won if they had played better, but it would have been a diffrent game. GOOD JOB STEELERS. Now go win the superbowl, then you can keep talkin up a storm.

They are definitely a contender for the SB at this point in the season, obviously no one in the AFC can hold onto them.

that they are. their schedule is weak sauce, besides the eagles and patriots, but even then they played at home against them when they had some of their skilled position players hurt. you could possibly add the jets as a viable threat on their schedule, but pennington is hurt, so we'll see what happens to that team the next 2-4 weeks.

i don't think i could name a team atop the nfl. i think it's too close to call right now.

How can you say the Steeler's schedule is weak? They just got done wiping the floor with two undefeated teams. You won't see another team have a tougher two weeks period. They now go on the road for two games against both Ohio teams. The Browns are playing well right now and the Bengals have the talent to take out any team on any day. Later on, they play the Jets, the Giants, and the Ravens in consecutive weeks. So I really don't know how you can say that.
Secondly, I'm sick of hearing people say, "Well, the Pats and the Eagles had a lot of key players hurt." Guess what? Duce Staley was hurt in the Eagles game. Bettis came in and filled his spot nicely. We had a few secondary players that were hurt, Big Ben hurt his leg in the Patriot's game and it still wasn't all the way healed. The Steelers have players hurt as well, but they still found a way to thoroughly trounce their opponents. But, as has been said 18 times, we'll see when the playoffs roll around.

all i said was it would have been different if dillon was playing. not the outcome, who knows.
because running the ball eqauls less pass attempts and less pass attempts for the pats = less chances for over-rated brady to **** up.

i hate tom brady

how can it be said anyone is well on their way to a superbowl? teams play completely different in the playoffs

I understand that, but Superbowl winning teams don't play different in the playoffs...they win. And the fact that the Steelers are winning left and right at the present moment, that's why I said they are well on their way.

The Ohio teams are good or decent??? Wow, since when? I can't remember the last time I thought that Cleveland of Cinnci was good. Their schedule is mediocre, there are definitely more teams out there with tought schedules than the Eagles.

On the other hand, it wouldn't have mattered one bit if Dillon was in the game for the Pats. Dillon has been everything the Pats have hoped for this season, but he still hasn't been a game winner. Sure he might have had a couple good games, but like him or not (I hate the guy), Tom Brady has been the one winning games for this team. He did it for them the past two years, and he's still doing it. The Pats couldn't cope with the speed of the Pittsburg defensive line and they were just outright manhandled by the size of their O-line. Add that to Big Ben, two of the best tailbacks in the game, a WR that can catch just about anything, and you get a game that doesn't matter if Dillon was playing or not, its still a W for the Steelers.

well so have the chargers lately and the steelers have the same record as the eagles and pats right? so i guess all of them are on the way to the superbowl

it may seem like im being an ass (which i am known to be) and hating on the steelers (who i really dont like) but i think the steelers are a great team. i just think this is a good argument with no right or wrong yet and im glad to see a good sports debate in here.

as far as the cleveland teams being good, i like both teams, and even if they are playing well thats not enough to call them good. but both are more than capable of pulling a big win out of their ass

I love how everyone says that Patriots would've won with Dillon and the Eagles would've won with Westbrook. First of, Westbrook is more overrated than Jake Delhomme. Second, is everyone forgetting that the Steelers didn't have Duce Staley playing, nor did they have Pro Bowl NT Caey Hanmpton, AND they were without CB Chad Scott. Terrell Owens didn't do a damn thing in that game cause McNabb had more black and gold uniform in his face than he had Chunky soup before the game. Steelers wiped the field with the Eagles and Pats, and are 9-1 when everyone thought they would be 5-4 at best right now, regardless of who played. Good teams overcome injuries and still win.

and i love how all steelers fans think they are the next coming of christ. you haven't won anything yet. Quite down. I believe the game would have been much better with westbrook in. That was part of the reason there was constant pressure on mcnabb. They didn't have to respect the run. Not saying they would have won otherwise, but it would have been a much better game. Now how bout we talk about something else since that game was 3 weeks ago. Like how BIG BEN looked anything but good in that game against cincy.

he threw for 138 yards. That's a bunch of dink and dunk stuff. He was sacked 7 times and lost a fumble. I don't believe that qualifies as good.

steelers have it made. they're just like the 49ers of the 80's, except not as talented. they have a tremendously easy schedule and will get through the regular season with relatively few injuries and be good to go in the playoffs. but, i'm not gonna kiss the steelers butt because they're 9-1. their schedule is weak.
