Then please tell me why my Civic and Nikki's Accord are built in the US, and still hold a high resale value? They are not imported. Both the Civic and the Accord hold the highest resale value in it's class. The resale value is high because both of these are reliable and the demands are higher.

Nooooo, Honda doesn't make the recalls public???? You have got to be kidding me. I guess Honda was lying when myself and the other 2001-2004 owners got a a letter from Honda telling me about a recall on the headlight wires that could short out on the 2001-2004 Civics. But since you know about Honda and their recalls, I better take your word for it. I guess that trip to the dealer was a waste of 2 hrs.

My Dad's 1985 Pontiac Grand Prix, unfortunately not being driven now has 350,000 miles on original engine and tranny. My Grand Am, though still young, has 130,000 miles on original engine and tranny, and still runs and feels like new.

Don't you think American cars suck? People form opinions from personal experience. You have your reasons to dislike American cars. My family has had problems with Japanese cars (Suburu legacy, Isuzu Trooper, Mazda Protege) and have had little, if NO problems with American cars. So I have my reasons... just like other people on this board.

It is sad though to see 80% of an american car forum hates American cars Maybe if people werent into modding the hell outta their cars, ragging on their cars, and not taking care of their cars, they'd be able to make them last longer

well then this site and about 99% of all the other car forums out there would be boring if everyone kept their car stock. i doubt their would be any forums out there in the first place, if it was like that.

im sure people out there know what their getting into when they mod their car performance wise, but it doesnt necessarily have to do with modding. You can have your car stock, drive like an assbag and still not have a lasting car.

Yes, and it doesnt matter if its American, Japanese, or European. All cars are like that.

Top 2 reasons why this site is starting to suck:

1 - Grand Am owners that b!tch about GM quality, and make numorous posts about it. And yet, they still wouldn't go ahead and trade in just to keep whining. If you hate your American car that much, but can't afford anything better, go get a focking Civic. Even though it's an economy class car, maybe it will have 0 problems if you think any imports are way superior.

2 - Then we got people with imports thinking their cars are teh sh!t.

Umm when did I ever say I dislike American cars?!?!?!?!?!? Thats what I thought.

This is my *first* import...I've owed all American cars before this...including 2 Grand Am GTs. I am just much more happier with everything about my Accord than my previous Grand Ams.

And like I said in another thread...at the time I bought my Accord there were NO American cars that appealed to me, or else I woulda bought one. And it all comes down to personal preference...
