i think he was refering to a comment earlier made by me on how the pt 02 was trying to make can also be made for Pitt. His bias blinds him .

Yet nobody has given big ben props for donating his first playoff check to the tsunami relief fund. This kid is a rookie and he still is acting more professional both on and off the field then most of the players that you will see

kudos to this kid...regardless of what others say

Ya gotta give credit to Ben for that. $18000 donation.

OK, not that I'm making him look like a bad guy or anything, but let's look at this. He stands to make 9 million at the end of this year, that's 9,000,000 dollars. He's giving, 18,000.

18,000 / 9,000,000 = .002 or 0.2% of his annual salary (and that 9 mil is generous, he probably will end up with more than that).

I make 40K a year, that means for me to give the same donation as Big Ben, I'd have to give $80. I'm guessing there wouldnt be very big news stories about me giving $80 to a relief fund even though its virtually the same as him.

And btw, before you flame me, I'm as big a fan of Ben as the next guy, he's one of my fav QB's. I'm just very aggravated at how the media blows things up bigger than what they should be.

not to mention other qb's have donated as well. They just haven't been hyped by the media like ben. I agree it was a nice jesture. But it doesn't need to be so played out. and nobody says anything bad about ben badboy. Not sure where ya got that from. Pretty much everyone loves him.

Did I say people though Ben was a badboy? I didn't think so, and if I did it came out wrong. I just didn't want people thinking I didn't like him or was trying to make him look like a bad guy. It was a very generous thing to do, and it can generate a lot of relief money, but it wasn't a big deal like the media made it out to be. That's my point.

I think it's good that the media is talking about ben giving $18,000....maybe it'll make some other players think about doing it themselves. Either way, $18,000 isn't much compared to what some NBA stars gave.

How did that go for you guys? Im not saying the steelers are gonna lose or the pats are gonna win but let the teams play before you assume that youre gonna win. and Hank Poteat will see very little playing time in my opinion. They didn't sign him to start and play a big role. He's insurance just incase another one of our secondary players gets hurt.
haha i remember that, i like when that happens no matter what team it is getting shut up . i dont think pitt fans are too bad, i relate it to how when you have a great season you just expect to win and nothing can convince you otherwise. aint nothing wrong with that

the joker, i wasnt bashing pitt on that one actually (i know thats tough to beleive) i was just making the point that they had many a close games just like philly has and most teams in the nfl have. i know thats their style, and quite franklin (another shocker) i love the style of football the steelers play. i just dont care for their terrible towels and their coach... they just somehow get on my nerves real easily. plus im obliged to dislike all teams that arent the pats

anyways, all my 'trash talk' is just in good fun

sidenote: anyone see that commercial that has clips of different footbal fans making their pre football season predictions? i forget what its for but one fan says "ricky williams has only one thing on his mind, and thats winning football games" another one is "in the nfc... i like the 49ers" then theres one or two more and it ends with a pats fan on the couch talking to someone else complete with boston accent "hey buddy what was the name of that qb the steelers drafted?.... rothlesomething, psh.... nice pick cower" ends with "time to get our stories straight" or something like that
i love it

oh and i think the possibility of a jets colts game is greater than everyone likes to admit, myself included

Speaking for all Pats fans, it is very difficult to like the Steelers. We also don't like the Raiders.

You're 'pts' ( ) are not worth responding to. The eagles can do no wrong in your mind so it's pretty pointless to argue over when you can't except negative criticism over your beloved team.

I like one of the worst teams in the league, the Ravens (not many people bash them as much as I do). If they had an offense they'd be dangerous, but choose J.Lewis over Holmes and let Stokely go to Indy., refuse to go after a good qb and continue to think Todd Heap will carry the offense. But life goes on, at least they've won a Super Bowl in the last 20 years.

You are right...if the ravens had a good offense, they would be a dominate team. Their defense is REMARKABLE and even though I hate Ray Lewis (I don't think someone who was involved in a double murder case should get that much positive publicity), he is a good football player and his defense rallies around him.

I just want it to be Pats vs Steelers in the AFC Championship game so that all the questions will be answered. Hopefully the Pats pull it out. My wife is from Mass and I lived there for 3 years...so I had to watch alot of them. I'll be rooting for them to win this weekend just so that the REAL superbowl can be played between the Pats and the Steelers.

yeah the afc should just break away.

i sat and i thought today, and i just dont like non boston area teams, there are a few exceptions, but im incredibly biased. its fun especially with 2 superbowls in the last 3 years, and finally a world series, hockey isnt going on so i cant be upset with the bruins and we dont talk about the celtics, its good to be a new england sports fan at the moment... and its not often that happens

so forgive my onesidedness please, im a victim of an intense sports society

Show me where I think the eagles can do no wrong. I said they could lose. Judging by other posters in this thread they believe you are teh one that has the bias. All you did was bash the eagles, and had no proof to back it up. You tried to use the close game example but then I came back with how Pitt played the same way. You said they were a bad team. Bad teams don't finish 13-3. The Ravens??? One of the worst teams?? They almost made the playoffs. They're nowhere near as bad as some of the other teams
