This is a DHP thread so I don't feel bad.

I remember this thread when it first came up. I did some reading but I'm still not sure on DHP. I know that it's a performance piece that goes under the drivers side dash, yada yada, and that it's designed for CAI and Exhast and stuff but what does it ACTUALLY DO! Higher horsepower? better air flow? Fuel mix? Red Line? What?

www.pfyc.com can tell you it says it all on the site.

Quote:
-Speed limiter removed
-3-1 and 4-2 skip shifts
-Transmission line pressure increased
-Shift points moved (5800-6000rpms)
-Fan turn on points altered as follows:
186 degree F turn on
2 minute fan on at key-off (this feature activates when engine coolant is 179 degrees or greater)
-Fuel/spark adjustments as follows:
Enrichens fuel delivery for critical problem areas
Provides a consistent power gain across the entire power band
-Reduces spark retard (knock retard)
-Dynamometer testing has shown up to an 6 to 10 HP gain in 60 degree temperatures on a development vehicle using 93 octane fuel.

he has asserted his dominance over competing males with the loud masculine sound form his exaust system, Females searching for a potential mate will be driven away by weaker exaust systems and attracted to his SLP.

Just got the PCM today and let me say that was by FAR the most frustrating Farking mod I have ever done myself. Partially because the jackasses that installed my security system left a MESS of wires and getting that big ol box through those wires was really REALLY testing my patience. Once it was installed tho I had a joyous time

Ok guys....im also ready to order this thing within a wk or so.....im also ordering the one-time re-flash in case those dumb dealer guys reflash it instead of having a case-learn.

For that reason, here's my questions........lets the worst happen and my dealer didnt do a CASE learn but just a re-flash and my tweaks are gone. How would I know for sure that in fact it was a re-flash instead of the right one(case learn).

for example, if it was done right, should i look for the fans turning on every time when i shut the car off(if the coolant is @ or greater then 179*), or what else should i look for so i know for sure i got the correct precedure done to it?

You hit it on the head, Let it get over 190-195 and shut her down.. If the fans are not moving you have a clue... Shifting S/B diff when you gun it as well.. (not recommended while in learning phase)

Besides the fans turning on, the shifting will also be very different. You'll be able to tell easily if it's a DHP program or not. The DHP raises the shift point while lowering the throttle percent necessary for upshifts, so essentially it makes it stay in a lower gear longer before upshifting without having to keep it floored. This makes it much easier to drive faster and is readily apparent when behind the wheel.

another couple ?'s, so right after installing it and starting the car up, the SES light comes on? or just on some of you?

Again, after installing and starting, the tranny slips on some shifts? on everyone or some of u ? Just trying to grab everything i can and will/might experience since when i get it installed, i wont drive it but to the dealer to get her 'relearned'

Some get it, some don't. The car will possibly set a DTC 1336 (I think) which means in needs a case relearn procedure. Only takes a few minutes with a scantool, and anybody that installs a DHP is advised to get it done for the best performance.

I get the SES

I gert an SES but mine is the one where it says the temp from the iat is too high, pfyc suggested moving the iat but could it be when they put my manifold gaskets on they rerouted the wiring through the wrong direction and the wires are jacked up? I did have the jet power control module which I'm sellling on it, and I fixed the wires and everything back to good as possible. Anyway, anyoen got a link to how to move the iat closer to where the air is coming in on a dr speed stage 3 cai?

I had tranny lag for about a day. After that it was completely gone. And skitch I refer to as scratch or skauk(sp?)ing the tires from a standstill of course
