well yeah.. see no way we could do a private event, well we could but with not knowing exactly how many people would come, I would be scared to have to pay all that money up front and then figuring out what to charge people..... too much of a hassle I think for me to deal with. Yeah you had more fun at norwalk writing mean things on my dirty car rather then race, nikki and I were the only ones who raced

but as for the show, would be more like a picnic/show.. at a local forest preserve where people can show off their cars and eat and play games and stuff.. ya know what i mean? I am so bogged down with work today I feel like I am not making any sense hehe

so thats the deal so far guys, none of the locals tracks have open T&T on friday nights unless we make the trek south to US41 in Indiana (and I would have to call and check but I think I have a copy of their 2005 schedule at home). Route 66 in Joliet only has T&T on tuesday nights and Byron only has it saturday and sunday afternoons!

so if we do a track day on saturday, we would have to do the car show/picnic on sunday or friday... which might be hard if people are going to come into town fri-sun and want to head home sunday afternoon?

ideas/feedback/suggestions???
Yea I know Ron. As long as there wasn't any big event going on it shoudn't be a problem to arrange to have our own lanes. I hope to be having some fun at the track this year. As for Route 66, I would advise against it. Very impersonal there and trust me when I say there is a fairly big problem with stealing there. I am joking when I say I have had things stolen 50% of the times I have been there.

I am thinking either of the first two weekends in june, once steve talks to Ron @ Byron and we decide which day will work I will announce that date and I am going to be working on some other stuff as well. I think this is going to turn out great!

Well Hello everyone Since this is only like maybe the 20th time i've posted on this site, i felt the need to say hello

I have yet to meet a fellow GA owner in my time i've been into this. Pathetic i know. But where the fuck are you all haha

Anyways.....Great Lakes Dragaway. Its just over the IL/WI border. Nice track, great people, hella good times. Great Lakes Dragaway From what i've seen, getting a whole weekend at a track, impossible. Day at a track, likely. There is a hotel in Antioch, IL, about 15-20mins away from the track. Never really busy, probably wouldn't mind the business of having a lot of people for an entire weekend. Lots of parking lot space for chillin' and what not. Only problem is...well...it's Antioch. Gives us more reason to get fuckin' wasted

Here's the thing. Friday nights in Gurnee, IL, there is always a nastalgia nights at the McDonalds by Gurnee Mills. Early evening its the hot rods, late evening everything else comes out. McD's, Taco Bell and Baker Square's parking lots are pretty much packed. Plus, 50cent burgers Anyways....you figure...Meet and Great Friday during the day/afternoon. Friday head over to the Mills, night back to the hotel to P-A-R-T-Y.....(and swim, cuz there is a pool!) Saturday, head to the track if its available, spend the day there, hell, even the night they are usually open till 11pm. Head back to the hotel. Repeat. Sunday wake up...yadda yadda. You know the drill.

That's just my two cents Wouldn't mind meeting some fella GA owners for a change. Plus, you guys will probably be able to see my GA bagged first before anyone, so holla

I am waiting to hear back from the track, to see which weekend (1st or 2nd in June ) works better for them.. I asked Steve (FastSteve) to check on this for me since he know Ron @ Byron pretty well. Once we pick that date I will try to find a central location (forest preserve) for the picnic/show and a hotel in the area... We have 4 months.. so here is to hoping that we can get a good turnout. Only problem might be determining how many hotel rooms to block???

I want to make this a good event and worth it for people to drive to, so like I said if people can post up what they are hoping for (keep in mind I am not Jeremy and Ryan) that would help.. so far looks like friday would be picnic and show and saturday would be track.. with ample party time at night. hehe

Byron still doesn't have their schedule up which means their still working on it. I can get this setup. I just have to make sure it isn't the same day as some big event because Ron just won't be able to take care of us if he's going to have hundreds of cars there that day.
