I talked to Tim at KYB yesterday and he gave me some news......the testing procedure is all done....that is the long process since they are required to rack up so many miles before the O.K. is done. They passed with flying colors as usual. They should be ready "during the summer"...they would be ready earlier HOWEVER since the rears have very little clearance in the trunk....the rears will have a side knob...not a top adjuster. If they DID do a top adjuster, you would be blindly adjusting the firmness with a screwdriver. Whenever the area has little to no space...side mount adjustment knobs get used. They are taking a bit of extra time because they have to use a separate mold for the strut perch/side mount design which isnt common apparently on the rear AGXs' Anyway, that has put it off a bit but we are getting closer! I wish we would have talked to them MUCH sooner really, so we could have lots of guys with these...but either way better late than never.
Anyway, I will keep you guys posted as much as possible. I want these as bad as everyone BUT in reality, I could stand to throw a few more miles on the 03' before swaping to the new AGXs, Pro Kit and mounts....I only have 45K....and I need the car to last a long time...I want the AGXs to last the life of the car. CHRIS

I dont think the issue has to do with the aftermarket hardware itself...i.e. the struts and springs themselves.....typically when a strut or shock has an "issue" it simply doesn't dampen well...it would be very spongy OR it would be broken like not working at all. It wouldnt pop or make a banging noise. I think the reason these issues come up is due to installation error. Now I am not saying that peoplee are installing them wrong HOWEVER remember the washer issue....that was a simple issue that made alot of people nuts. I never had an issue with my 96' Achieva making ANY noise out of the front or rear suspension...BUT when I decided to swap out the struts/shocks at 135,000 miles, I ran into a host of noise after the install.....after lots of looking around, it ended up being the fact that stuff wasnt tightened down as much as it could be...SO I think that even though quite a few people have had the issue...alot of problems can stem from simple things. In addition, I think less people have had issues with the GM strut mounts...correct?

I just sent them an e-mail. Just trying to let them know that there's still a lot of interest in these. I'd really like to see more for these cars in the aftermarket performance area, and these would be a great addition.
