wtf are u talkin about man? those hemi trucks get horendously brutal mileage compared to gm and ford trucks. plus they arent even that fast.. you can take a 345 hp chevy 6.0 litre and it will take out a 5.7 litre 345 hemi in a 1/4 mile no problem. u can always spend the big bling and get the 8.3l 500 hp hemi but i bet u wont get more than 12 mpg with it. ask anyone that has pulled a trailer with a hemi powered truck they are tres brutale for mileage. ever since dodge redesigned the trucks they have been the most aggressive mean lookin outta the big 3 but the worst selling. had the worst fuel economy, the worst ride. they just look cool but will never be a top seller like ford and gm models are each and every year.. the guys that use them the most.. farmers/riggers and so on wont use them because of fuel problems and break downs. I do give dodge credit for all the powerfule vehicles they have now but they gotta work on the gas thing.. aka the viper to vetter gas mileage comparison.. way different. vetter out performs the viper in pretty much everything plus is it about 12 grand cheaper. As you can see the viper gets 12 mpg in the city and 20 on the highway. it has the same engine as the ram srt which weighs twice as much so can you imagine how brutal the mileage is on the truck if the car is this bad.. gas is over 90 cents a litre here i complain getting about 37 mpg i cant imagine getting 20 at best

Show me someone who gets 29 MPG out of a Corvette on the highway, and I will show you someone who doesn't know how to appreciate a Corvette.

I think the fuel estimates (and that's what they are from GM, estimates) are way off for the Corvette. Someone who owns one please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Viper MPG #'s are WAY more realistic. I get 21 from my Grand am, and that's a V6.

I enjoy driving though

Just an opinion.

Yep. Working for Chrysler, I better know that I was just saying that I think expecting 29 MPG from a corvette seems unrealistic for a V8.

I could be wrong. It's happened before.

1st off the Hemi in the Dodge trucks does not have the cylider deactivation system to save gas milage yet (the 1500 may get it soon) and the Truck as about the worst aerodynamic cuz of the huge grill, which kills mpg. It's impossible to compare the trucks mpg to that of what the charger might get. I think 14-16 city and 22-24 hw would be realistic for the charger once the engine is broken in. Dodge engines tend to get better mileage as they get more miles on them, especially 30+. The hemi powered truck will not get hand by a gm 6.0L, the only truck to be faster than the Hemi is the New Titan, look at any comparo test. I like the charger myself and may consider it to replaced the GA in another year or two. Btw I get about ~14 mpg combined in my 2500 dodge, I've gotten as high as 20 on the highway with it, so the Hemi's mpg isn't as bad as everones says for some reason, It gets better mpg than the 4.7 and old 5.9 that they used.

dude i was in a chevy ss 2005 extended cab(at murray gm moosejaw) we raced a dodge hemi 1/2 tonne regular cab for about a mile or so and we were about 3 truck lengths in front of.. now these are both autos and both 2 the boards 6.0 litre vs dodge 5.7 litre.. now of course the big 8.3 litre 500 hp dodge will destroy anything but thats a different story.. and just for the record the normal corvette not the Z06 has a GM estimated fuel rating of 37 mpg on the highway.. much higher than the Z06 29 mpg.. I dont know how u only get 21 mpg outta a v6 grand am i get about 36 from mine . its rated at 39.. if u get 20 then u either drive it pretty hard or have some serious mechanical problems

It seems that the Charger either has "love it" or "hate it" styling.

Why cant these designers make great looking cars, i mean when these people draw up sketches dont they get peoples opionions before they make them? I mean the 04 GTO was pretty bad looking, the 05 looks ALOT better especially with the apperance package. The Dodge Charger is just a p!ssed off status like EGGO said. WHY WHY WHY do you make a classic muscle car look like a dodge stratus??????? The car should be in a league of its own. Geez i would hate if they bring back the Trans Am and make it look like a Sunfire...

Umm, we're talking about cars here. Magnum, 300C, etc., great gas mileage. But hey, thanks for comparing trucks and vipers and whatever the hell else you're trying to get at.
