I emailed him earlier today asking him for the name of the place in taiwan that makes the lights. Since taiwan is the response I got a few days ago. And this is the response I got from him just a few minutes ago.

the qurity is batter than the generation3 one.

I am not sure he has any clue whats going on.

Uhh...yeah...I don't think we're going to get anywhere with these guys. It's not looking too good. It looks like our only option is to wait until they put up a set under $200 and grab them then.

If they don't want to do a decent group buy for us, then none of us should order them until they do, simple as that. But what everyone has to remember is that getting mold's made for something like this is very costly. But, I do believe that even if they sell them for $150 they're still making plenty of money. I think everyone needs to understand that they need to stay in business, aside from giving us all a good deal.

I worked closely with an up-and-comming sneaker / sports apparel company. Went over all the bills, invoices, wrote up contracts, and put his sketches into photoshop to send to China to have the molds made. For a water bottle in the shape of a sneaker that held 24oz's, it cost $3000 US to have the mold made for it. But then again, they made the mold from an existing headlight and used different material's, which should hopefully bring the cost down.

So, yes, it isn't right that they jacked the price up so much so quickly. But, at the same time, they do need to make that money back, otherwise they're out of business. They're cost per piece is probably $75 - $80 due to the material's being used. I honestly say a group buy price of $175 shipped is fair for both parties. We get them for a good price, and they still make $50 ea pair in the group buy, which looks like what, 16 people now?

Sik, send this to them, see what they say... I'd really like to know the cost for the mold, and their cost of each... This is something I wish I thought of doing a year ago myself.

You guys are using some pretty fancy words in your e-mails to these guys. How about this:

Dear Mr. Chow,

Many people I know (16) want to buy your Grand Am Black Headlights. We can not buy however unless we each pay $200 shipped to us. 16 Grand Am Black Headlights for $3200. Can you do this for us? Thank you very much,

Luke

CUSTOMGAGT2000SEDAN Still kinda new, but learning
guys i see one set on there now . 240. do not be suprised if you don ' t see as many listed at one time or not at all for a while . as a way of making the buyers think . i better get them now or the next ones before there all gone. as long as just one person can ' t hold out and is buying the sellers will and can do what he wants with the price. REMEMBER the saying something like this > everything that goes around comes around again. as mentioned i am interested in them.
but will wait til hell freezes over before i pay a crazy price. this seller is only going to burn him self for future sales to those that are upset with him now and have the will power to wait til i descent seller of parts comes in to view. guys i buy alot of defintely rare stuff and you always see more later down the line reguardless of how limited the item is according to the seller.
let this seller sit on this lights . he'll reduce the price and move on to selling something esle at crazy prises. or we will find another seller of them .

thats why we want a manufacturer. i already hunted down his company or home address. it shouldnt be that hard to get a manufacturer out of him if someone were to meet him face to face.

we could also make a stand and say we wont pay a penny over 200 a pair by just doing that, not buying the boosted prices. but you cant control the people not on this site that go onto ebay, see the item, like it and buy it without realising how much more they are paying than necessary. you can not control the uncontrolable variable. and as long as there are those that do not read your post or do not read this thread because they are not members on this website, they will continue to have customers and continue to raise their prices.

therefore i see no problem in someone cracking and buying a pair right now. because with this variable we cant control, we still run the risk of seeing the prices skyrocket.

I received my headlights today. Are there any pics people would like to see before I install them?

I don't see any manufacturer info on them. They have part number KS-GM229 on them.

They come in a non-descript white box.

The included headlamps are Sylvania HB5/9007. That appears to be standard halogen.

Would it work to put an amber colored bulb in the turn signal lights, then it would be amber at night but white during the day?
