If they want to give me a free set, I'll take 100 pictures for them to choose from But I may have to charge him $20 to ship the CD, and royalties for using my photo's as well.... just to get back at him for jackin up the price so high, not to mention the outrageous $45 for shipping.

I wrote: hey man what happened? I was on here a couple of weeks ago and these were like $180, now that I got the money for them there $240?? Now its gonna take me another week to save up for these. Anyway you can go back to your original price?? please!!

Respnse: hi, i'm so sorry that the price is fixed and i can't drop the price by myself. i'll try to discuss this with my manager and see if they can drop the price a bit. thank you.

The guys are abso****inlutely ridiculously clueless. First no GB or local pick up. Then they give us $5 off. Then there's no discount. Then we can pick up.

dont forget they couldnt speak english, then all of a sudden could.

but here goes. the project of installing and aligning should have been easy. but i had a faulty drivers side light. one of the ball bearings broke when we were sliding it into place. so we ended up ripping the old one off of the old light and modding it to fit the new one. this took awhile. (involved use of a hacksaw, i wont go into details). finally got it in, took us nearly 3hours when all was said and done because the drivers side light did not want to go back in. the passenger side light was a breeze.

now here's something thats odd.

there is a silverish mist in my headlights when they are on. the longer they are on the thicker it gets. anybody have a ****in idea what this **** is? its kinda freakin me out. i put the sylvania silverstar bulbs in. and this white mist is freakin the **** out of me.

EDIT: I did clean some of the bulbs with windex and thought I dried them thoroughly. Could this be the problem? Its just really worrying me cause I dont want my bulbs to blow because of this crap or to develop electrical problems. I'll try to take a picture of it if no one has any ideas.

****IN A!

Moisture in there, goddamn it. I really dont want to do these again, or atleast not my drivers side light. Looks like I'm ripping them back out tomorrow to do that vinegar thing I just found on my research. GODDAMN IT! This ****es me off. Is the only way to fix the moisture by removing it, adding vinegar, swishing, draining, and drying? Or is there another way i can get it out? It's not heavy moisture, just forms a bit of a mist when my lights heat up..

Edit: Will the moisture clear up at all from the heat in the long run? What kind of damage will it do if not fixed asap? I feel like a retard for letting this happen but I didnt even realise it would till now.

CUSTOMGAGT2000SEDAN Still kinda new, but learning
Lightbulb

i have been watching the last three sets of these lights on ebay. and they all sold with i bidder each . like said most likely not by folks on this site. if so . okay if your original lights are bad . but if ther okay . then stay away from buying .
i have mentioned time to time i have dealt with many and many kinds of peolpe and business in and out of court and if you hold out your chances of winning are better then the 50/50 saying. my last dealing with pcp procarparts took me almost a year and i won . and still have an extra drivers sides tailight. they did not ask mme to send back too boot. and i could have pushed for more. watching there other sets on ebay
.. moisture set light out in the sun for hours with bulbs out or use a hair drier. i can get my taillights to form condensation easy , when they are hot from the sun and i shower then wth cold hose water , they form moisture because of the hot and cold , but because it is so fine, and is still in the warmth of the sun , it will completely evaporate in the heat. or same on a cold frosty morning up here.
the other type of condensation is when the the fog disapates it seems ,but it actual turns back to liquid and hides in a part of the light where you can ' t see it and will re-appear because it still in the light.. look hard to see if this is what your condensation is doing. again i am in on the blk chrome headlight multi buy for 200 total or w a wee bit more for cdns of course

I would stay away from vinegar, that's an acid. Rubbing alcohol is better if you must pour something in there. It absorbs water and evaporates quickly.

Take the light out and use a hair dryer or fan to push air through the unit. When it's dry, seal around the lamps with RTV. Seal anywhere you think moisture is getting in.

thanks, the vinegar thing was from some older posts i found while searching.

the problem appears to be gone this morning, but when i go home from work im going to run the headlamps for a few minutes and see what happens. it might just be due to the fact that i had to transfer some of the rubber seals from the old headlights to the new ones. i just really pray that the condensation evaporated out on its own from the heat, because i really dont want to go through another hour with the drivers side headlight. that thing was a bitch to install the first time, second time, and third time last night.

i also agree on that.....if people have headlights that are completely chipped or faded and just have that condensation look to it, hen get the new pair. u'd probably be paying more at the dealership anyhow. the headlights DO look nice, but my headlights are practically new so i dont have any interest....yet

btw, the company that manufactured these did not reuse the old housings as was first stated. but rather used both the housing and the lense on the original headlights to make molds. the original housing is a plastic, the new one is metal (aluminum). The only reason it resembles the old housing is because alot of the wording transferred over into the mold as well. The lights arent painted, and dont have vinyls applied on the original housing. Its an entirely new deal on an exact replica of the old housing.

Seems like I've been missing out on some fun here. Hopefully this whole business settles itself down, and we get these headlights out to GA guys with ease. I'd order a set in a heartbeat, but I'm going to wait a few weeks.

too bad you did not send them back. for two reasons . if you have anymore problems with them they may not warrantee them because of things you do to them. fickle sellers. and i would have been interested to see how the warranty works for us. becuase you know there will be problems in future with them just like many other factory or aftermarket parts. like who pays to ship them back down ? who pays to reship replacement? what hassles do you get etc etc. lets say they were to arrive to you damaged etc that too. although not your particular type of problem. keep your eyes open for other sellers of these and if you find others don ' t give them too much info on this present seller. like the fact that he is selling them at 240. because then others will sell at the same . watch what you say. tackfull.

eh, i forgot about warranties. im too used to buying crap on ebay where you're stuck with it if somethin goes wrong. my bad. but i dont really care personally about it, i can fix the problems easily. so from that stand point, it was simpler to fix it myself. besides, other than one small difference, its virtually identical to the original one. very hard to tell.

just to clarify...the guy didnt offer for anyone to pick up the lights, he specifically said that I can pick them up. i figured he would do something like that...but i wont buy from this guy, even if i can pick them up.

i like to stand up for whats right, and when the price drops il see if i can pick them up.

if anyone wants to send me their stock headlights with messed up lenses, ill take them off your hands. ill pay shipping + some $. just PM me and lemme know your price. i want to do some experimenting.

You know the more I read this thread the more I side with Auto Dynasty... It's been pointed out by someone already but I forget who... You guys are really starting to cry way too much over these lights. Now that some people have them and we're finding out that it's a better constructed housing than stock, it comes with new bulbs and most importantly, it does away with the amber that so many people hate, it appears that they are ideally priced. They offered them at a low price, they sold quickly so they raised the price to make more money. Any of you out there would do the same if you were selling something that was in demand. The way I see it, these are a still a steal at $240, anything less than $300 even. It's an aluminum, not plastic housing, imported from overseas. Not a cheap product. Keep in mind that OEM from the dealer will cost you almost as much as these. And the unmentionable company offers a poor-quality looking projector, that you need to use your stock lense with, for $700.

I don't have a great job, but I can make enough to pay for these in 3 days, if you guys can't save up enough money to pay for them then you must not really want them (typical response to the GA aftermarket). Shut up, suck it up, and either buy them or move on with your lives. There's like 10 people vowing not to buy at the current price but they're still selling so you guys aren't impacting the market. If I were selling them I'd raise the price again, I'm sure they'd still sell at $300.

I made the post about everyone crying and ya know what, they are still doing it. I bought them and just because everyone says boycott them, fock that. They are much better then stock and they are just what everyone wanted. Now they don't wanna pay the price. Happens all the time.

All I know is that I suggest that anyone who wants them buy them up before people really start to complain about the price. That what I did and am very pleased.

Question

i am sure most of us can afford them even at the higher prices. it's the way they hiked them . with over 100,000.00 in collectibles and two customer vehicles and that i am 43, and have been buying and customizing since i was 15.
i am sure i have bought more items either from ebay and or interenet and or just from companies , or combination of the three, then most of you ( no offence to anyone ) but not once have i seen prices change that fast and that many times . and you won ' t go out of business by not doing it .
someone mentioned a while back that someone from the company maybe reading this website. and if so you pretty much dropped the hint to raise the prices some more . so thanks if they do. as sellers they want to make as much money , sure . as buyer we don ' t want to pay too much. it 's like i said someone always says too much to a company .if they are following along with us all. lets see what happens when some other company picks up the line .
and there will be . because the maker of them will as all businesss do try to get there product out too as many stores as possible. if they are better quality then factory ,great that's what we all want . and we all know that most products from the factory that we can find in the aftermarket companies do turn out too be cheaper. no surprize there. just like service cost comparisons etc etc. if i paid threw the nose and did not price shop for all my **** . i would either be broke or not have as much.
the term crying doesnot suit this or most topics , because it is in man's nature to converse /debate/argue about prices, that's how business work. it seems to me that many of us would come to a mutual price aggreement with the company , but the company does not want to work with us. sure they don ' t have too. we'll see if and how many customers they loose because of the way they approched the market with this product. do you think i will go back to procarparts .NO and i love the taillights but there handing and service i got ****ed me off .
and we know there at least two companies selling there taillights. remember no one truely has a monopoly on anything . in time someone esle gets ahold of it or improves on that item etc. do you all like paying the high gas prices , my guess no. can we do something about it too some degree yes. i see it on tv and up in my local area. wilsons still days after has his gas 15 cents less then most everone esle .
and the cars are still flowing but are not at others except those that get a trickle of cars , because they don ' t know about it. that's why three of us in my neighborhood will be dealing with wilsons alot more and after this gas hike thing mellows out. treat your customers right ALL THE TIME to the best of your abilities and they will be back . i managed a multi million dollar business for years and we gave a little to gain alot from our customers.

exactly. It's the sellers right to raise prices if there is demand, but in the same way, it is the buyers right to try to get the seller to come down in price. That is why almost no one buys headlights from the dealer, cause they wont pay around $300 for new headlights. I ended up breaking down and getting the lights at $200 + 45 shipping. First I wasn't going to buy them for over $200 shipped, but with the companies stubbornness towards lowering prices and the fact that if I wanted them later they'd be $240 + shipping, I went ahead and got the pair at the "lower" price.

soon as my bro gets home with the RTV, im gonna fix the one headlamp that still has moisture and snap some pics for you guys.

btw, someone should get all the pics together from this thread and get it into one thread to give people a better idea of how these lights look on different colored vehicles.

I tried to read that and got like 1 sentence in before I gave up. Dude, listen closely because you seem pretty stupid. No one fockin cares about your $100k+ in collectibles. Ten people from this site boycotting this company is NOT going to make them lower the price. They are still selling Grand Am headlights and even if they don't, they're still selling plenty of other products. So I'm sure their business is doing just fine and if you don't want to pay what seems to be a fair price then I'm sure they won't care.

If they had started selling these headlights at $240 a pair from the very beginning no one would be complaining. Everyone would think that was a great price compared to OEM replacements and the cost of doing a projector conversion.
