Metallman, the Bears played the Pats in Super Bowl XX IN THE YEAR YOU WERE BORN. I guess that brings new meaning to the term, "football fan since birth." haha!

Also, Cormaster, I wouldn't be so hasty as to call Peyton the best quarterback of all time. You've still got guys like Elway, Marino, Unitas, etc. up there. Peyton can very well be the best of all time and if he stays healthy I think he'll certainly earn that distinction. He's shown some outright amazing stats and abilities over the past 6 or 7 years, but let's not make him a diety just yet...

i agree with your entire statment. except one thing. sorry to say manning isnt the best qb ever. he is a great qb, but not the best ever. he is smart, but not smarter than marino. and i dont know if any one has been/is as competitive as nameth. not to mention montana, elway, bradshaw, young, and the list goes on. he is the best in the league right now though. no question.

also calm down about the colts. they will be in the super bowl. manning wont let them not be. take it one game at a time.

also iangt99 i saw the cable guy sunday night. hilarious! i meant to tell you earlier but kept forgetting.

We basically won that game because Peyton slowed it down in the 4th quarter and took time off the clock. Peyton is the best quarterback of all time, not just because he can throw 80 yard touchdown passes, because he's the smartest, most competitive player I've ever seen. He knows howto win games.
did you watch the game???

at one series with around 2 minutes left, peyton called 3 straight pass plays and took about 17 seconds off the clock, giving cinci the ball back with decent position.
and since he decides between run and pass plays at the line... how is that being smart?!?
and he knows how to win games, the whole team does, anybody knows how to, he has been this year a lot. he didnt last postseason... and the one before that and

thats my 5 cents

well even the greats make mistakes...

I guess I shouldn't call him the Best ever yet... I think when its all said and done he will be. Its always heartbreaking to see him throw and interception, which I saw him do at least once these past 2 games. Though I have to say in the cincy game it was worth it to see manning tackle, .

I think the difference in the colts this year is they are relaxed. They could of beat new england last year but honestly I think they were under so much pressure they tried too hard... Peyton showed up to play but the rest of the team didn't...hell peyton was hitting the receivers right in the numbers with the ball and they could not hold on to a pass! oh yeah thats right and our defense sucked back then :-P

Anyway like I said if they are going to loose, they better get it out of the way. If not, then yeah hopefully 19-0. If Denver wins the rest of their games, Indy will have to win through the Seattle game to keep 100% homefield advantage. As far as Arizona goes, hell I think our 3rd stringers can handle them. undefeated status is only 5 games away. Its kind of a relief knowing 11 games have passed, and only 5 more to go, and the colts have stayed undefeated.

They make mistakes, but I honestly don't think any other team is as good right now. Now next year, well hell its a different NFL next year... I'm looking for Cincy to rise up to our status within the next few years.

indy didnt beat NE last year for two reasons. weather. NE defense. the recievers wernt catching the ball because they knew that they were going to take a big hit. they were probley outcoached too but i cant really use that as a reason because i dont know first hand. i wasnt on the field.

i think indy will go 19-0. i am probley wrong but i hope not. the thing is if you play the colts this year you have to put up about 50 pionts to beat em. thats hard to do.

GO INDY!!

GO BEARS!!

no offense, but that sounds really ****y and it kind of gets under my skin "to our status"
not everyone wants to be just like the colts, with that much talent on one team, it will be extremely hard to maintain for more than a year or two. cincy and others are looking similar to the patriots (not saying they started it) but where they have 1 or 2 very good talents and the rest filled with hard working 100% heart average talent guys. which makes it much easier to re-sign and keep a team together. im amazed the colts have kept all their stars together this long, lots of credit there

the colts havent won **** yet is what it comes down to, even if they go undefeated (amazing accomplishment, that i am not arguing) in this day in age, it doesnt matter if you cant win the whole thing. and if they go undefeated and dont make it to or lose the superbowl, wherever they may lose if they do will make it seem like all those wins were for nothing.
going undefeated would be great, but it didnt work out well for the last team to do it, not saying that will happen again (altho if the colts go undefeated i hope they follow suit) im just emphasing the point that the season would be extremely incomplete without a ring, at the very least a superbowl appearance

metallman, i would say the colts were definitely outcoached by the pats last year in almost every department (just my opinion from watching the games), dungee doesnt get much credit for the colts success and rightfully so

Dungee put together a d that can keep manning on the field. that is what he was put there for. building the indy d like he did to tampa.

last i checked things worked out great for the last/only team to go undefeated. the 72 dolphins were 19-0 with a superbowl ring. thats not too shabby. since then all teams have lost atleast one game in the regular season. as irony has it my 85 bears only lose came from the phines.

i do agree that if the colts loose a post season game the whole season will go right down the toilet. to truely have a perfect season you MUST win the superbowl. of you dont then you didnt have a perfect year.

i think now if the colts win the superbowl then most of the team will stay together. i think even james will be back. the colts have been hungry for a ring for a while now, so the taste of victory will be very sweet to them. they will want anther one. and if the team stays togerher, they will have more to come.

so who do we like this weekend? of the 4 big divisional games here is who i like:

pit over cincy
dal over nyg
den over k.c
t.b over atl

all of the games could go either way. no clear winner, but thats just who i think has the best chances. what do you guys think?

cinci
dallas
denver
is the tampa game home? if so ill take tampa

and one thing i do know is im gonna be cold but hopefully it will be worth it and the pats will destroy the jets on sunday... but this year i never know

edit: and you are right my bad, for some reason i thought they (72 dolphins) didnt win the bowl that year, i thought they did the year after

my mistake

its in pit. pit will win because there d which looked like crap against the colts will take cincy out of there game.i mean tell me one d so far after the first 3 games of the season that hasnt looked like crap against the colts. its in pit, its cold, its a must win for pit. that is why they will win. throw out all the stats and crap, its a divisional game.
why do you think cincy will win?

because of the same reasons for the most part

look what cincy's offense did against the same colt defense that held the steelers. and they put up big numbers last week as well
the fact that its in pit does give me some hesitation, but i still feel cincy will win and it will be a tough loss if so for the steelers to handle

plus ive been a cincinatti fan for quite some time and i just want them to win

Let's not forget what the Steelers did to Cincy earlier in the season. They will do it again. That is why they will win.

And if they don't, I'll most likely break many things...

the last two games both pitt and cincy have played the same two teams, ravens and colts

the steelers scored around 20 something total points and cincy scored somewhere around 70 something total. those are rough numbers, i just heard them mentioning that on sportscenter.

if pitt doesnt get their running game back on track they aren't beating anybody

Well, I guess it goes to show that even when your quarterback throws for 386 yards, if the running game doesn't work, the Steelers don't win. It was a good game, but the mistakes just murdered us and that was the difference in the game. I could give two craps about Ben's thumb. He threw an amazing game today, but the three INT's just have no excuse. He threw into coverage all three times and deserved to get picked. Also, Parker couldn't hang onto the ball to save his life and Staley just sucks anymore. After this year, I say Bettis will retire, Staley will be traded, and Parker will be the main back.

Cincy proved that they have gotten better since the last time these two teams played. The Bengals will win the division because of the schedule they have to finish the season. All four teams have losing records. The Steelers will have to win out to have a shot at the Wild Card. They have Chicago and Minnesota in the next few weeks. They're going to have to step it up if they want to have any shot at the playoffs.
