That's about the best thing you can do right there. Test drive all the cars you're interested in and even a few you might not have thought of. The more the better. Who knows, you may find something else you like.

I gotta agree with some of the other opinions here though and say stay away from the G6 GTP. While GM's build quality and panel fitment have improved on the G6 over the GA, for the price you pay there's still way better performing cars on the market with better aftermarket support. For that price and the engine displacement, it should have another 30-40hp, and the brakes still suck. If all you're looking for is basic transportation then the G6 GT would do the job and be cheaper than the GTP.

I love my WRX! It has a lot of options and is really easy to convert into the STi. Plus the limited edition package is super nice with the leather seats and all. For me it was a perferct pick. It has power and the inside was nice. If you wanna know anything else just PM! Good luck on your car choice@!

kman- your GA is having problems because you modded it. domestics dont seem to take well to mods anyways.

id say 350Z all the way. id never buy another GM product after the way they treat their loyal customers.

lets see here:
G6 GTP------240 hp-------~$25k
350Z--------300 hp--------~$27K (used)
Cobalt SS--205hp---------~$22k

the difference of 60 hp between the G6 and z is a HUGE difference. plus, the VQ engine is a proven reliable motor that can withstand mods easily, where as the 3900 is a new incarnation fo teh motor that you are currently having issues with. i presonally dont trust GM and their damn gaskets.

I guess we could start a sub-section in the 'Other Makes' area.

There's much more to a car (and its price) than how fast it is.. I'll leave it at that.

Honestly I don't think you should listen to any of us, test drive what you want and buy what you like the best
