It's obvious that Vint has deep hatred for GM products(sans Corvette), due to his tainted Grand Am. He is entitled to his own opinion, but the frequency of his same rant is growing tiresome. I think this thread should be closed.

unpainted mirrors, a bit of wheel gap, come on talk about bein picky.the g6 is the nicest lookin car out of the competition in its class.the accord is ugly as well as the camry who the hell wants a nissan(pukes).u gotta remember that the g6 is made 100% in NORTH AMERICA with NORTH AMERICAN parts which is why gm has to go with the plastic unpainted mirrors etc.those jap cars are NOT 100% NORTH AMERICAN made, they may be assembled in NORTH AMERICA but most of the parts are IMPORTED from ASIA which is why they can build cheaper cars. by buying a g6 you can be proud of the fact that you're contributing to your economy in a positive way as well as buyin 1 hell of a nice car
if u wanna get picky the nissan logo as well as the toyota and honda are all ugly.pontiacs logo is one of the best looking logos around |

You know keith, I could care less if that is obvious. Why come in here if you feel this thread should be closed? This thread is concerning the G6 and what it has going for it and what it doesn't. Last edited by Vintalage; 12-01-2005 at 07:05 PM. |

I'm berating GM vehicles? Please, GM did that on their very own. Check the sales. I've barely been here these past few months, and haven't talked about the lackluster G6 in quite some time (many months now). The most i've done here is post new threads in autonews. Only recently have I decided to post my thoughts on the G6 because of cetain threads that stood out to me. I've made useful contributions to this thread. It's just that you don't want to see them. The positives don't get old. The negatives do. |

What I disagree with you on is that the average consumer doesn't do their research and simply buys Toyota and Honda based on hearsay. What the average consumer does is drive the superior products and go with that. They want the best that money can buy. That is, the products that have proven quality, reliabilty, and class leading features for the $$$ are the ones that get the customers to purchase them. The problem with the Verona, Galant, and G6 is the risk involved. Will the quality hold up? How many problems will it have? Will resale be high? What does it offer that the competition doesn't? What makes it better? Is perception the reason why Toyota and Honda acheive their sales goals each month? Well, partly. But that is because they built products that were stronger than the competition. And that holds true today. But what about Nissan? 6 or 7 years ago, Nissan wasn't doing to well but now they are continously improving sales while improving products. How is this? It was the formula that they used. Nissan used power, styling, and latest exclusive technology for their newer cars and it worked to their advantage. Nissan redeemed themselves. So, just like the Japanesse big 3 are perceived as good is the same reason the domestics are perceived as bad. They built that reputation for themselves based on product. That's all it comes down to, product. Meeting the competition is not good enough. The product must beat them inorder to achieve true sucess. Becoming the benchmark is the goal. I disagree with ya there buddy. If it was a quality thing or people talking about quality etc... GM would be in bankruptcy years ago. I think it's 1.Price and 2.Re-sale value. Most people don't know or care what's under the hood, are easily impressed by quality reports/advertisments positive or negative, but when it comes time to buy, they have to dig in their wallet and then everything looks different. Some people feel the G6 is a good deal, some think it is too much money for what you get, and some people feel they don't want to keep a new car forever so why lose your ass on depreciation. If they lowered the price even more closer to what the GAGT was several years ago, but without using incentives to do it, it would sell even better. |

I dunno why stuff sells and why it doesnt..alot of it is a mystery to me. I love the G35 Coupe but they will sell a bunch of them at $40K+ with a V6 yet GM wont sell many GTO's with a 400 hp V8 for $32K...hmmmm
Other top sellers being Britany Spears and Jessica Simpson, Billy Big Mouth Bass that sings, FurBy pets, Popeil Pocket Fishermen, Louie Vuitton bags and the Salad Shooter. When you look at what things can outsell demand in a market, it raises alot of questions. I have given up all hope of knowing what will sell. ![]() CHRIS
