I have had my G6 GTP almost 2 weeks with about 360 miles on it now. I only have a small complaint. The 1-2 shift is a bit difficult at times. I can engage all other gears ,including 6th, without a problem. Unlike the scathing reviews above, my 3.9L feels strong and is plenty torquey. The car feels fast and has a nice powerband. The ride is very compliant with no rattles. The Monsoon sound system is excellent. So far, I'm very pleased with my car, despite all the negativity in this thread. I am enjoying my G6 GTP coupe and its amenities.

My car is flawless quality wise. By this time other cars my family has owned recently(TL Type S, GA GT, Chrysler T&C, 300M, Pacifica) had all been to the dealer at least once. The GA had been multiple times. This car is rock solid, the general word is that most owners do not have that many problems at all, but the ones who do seem to have terrible cars that have many problems. The most common complaints from G6 forums are with wind noise and creaking from the pano roof, dash creaking, cd changers that freeze up, EPS that sometimes locks up (the one safety problem), GTP 6 speeds that are hard to put into 2nd and 3rd, and rough idles. So yeah, ther are some problems but they seem to affect a small number of people. My experiance has been that the car is great reliable transportation with very little excitement in the drivers seat.

You're back again Nikki?

Anyhow, if you say so. Nice excuse I must say.

I've said my share in this thread. I'm done talking about the G6.

Bias they claim. As I suggest before, DO SOME RESEARCH.

well, I've only had my G6 for a couple days...I've put about 360 miles on it already! I love it! No problems, and I have a base model....I may not have all the goodies that are on the GTP, but when I'm driving the car, I could care less.

No creaks, rattles, strang noises, CEL's or anything...I'll admit, I didn't like this car when it came out, but I quickly changed my mind when I took one for a test drive. I'm happy with my purchase, dispite whatever issues a few people may have

I would hope it has none of those problems within the first 400 miles...I'm interested in seeing what the long term drive results are say after 25k miles. My GA started to rattle/creak around 10-15k.

your point? The G6 already has a recall too...name one car in their first year of production that doesnt have a recall. The civic has a recall for a sticking gas pedal and the g6 has a recall for a safety restraints

Either way..just pointing out that alot of people seem to be under the impression that Hondas and Toyotas cant/dont have issues. When a GM car has an issue they will go, "Bad, bad" and when a Toyota does they turn their head and pretend like they didnt hear it...or just disregard it. Thats my only point....plain and simple. The only reason that I pointed out the RX-8 earleir in this thread is because I have had to give my neighbor a ride to work twice for his RX-8 having issues.
People are so far gone that they will see a Mazda badge on a Mazda 6 and think wow what a great Japanese car..then they will see a new Ford Fusion which IS a Mazda 6 and say....dont know about that car....I have heard they have issues and are a crappy Ford. But when they become informed as to what it is..their opinions change. Anyone know that the underpinnings of a Toyota Tundra come off the line next to the Full Size GMC Vans? They do. But people will think while driving their Tundra that their frame was made in a white glove factory by genius engineers while care and precision are top priority. The GMC frame people would think is made by people guessing and running around like idiots welding whatever they can find. Amazingly, alot of people are under this impression. It comes out in alot of what people say.

CHRIS

Not surprised, then again, it is a car mag stat.

The V6 Mazda 6 is really really weak for a V6 mid size sedan. I KNOW my old 01 GAGT was ALOT faster.
