Actually, My fiances GTP is nothing more than an enlarged Grand Am. The focker has been to the shop 5 times in 2 years. The interior is cheap, rattly plastic.....and it's focking orange.

Have I ever said it's focking ORANGE

Look what I did to the post on her car from when she got it.
New Cars: Mine & my girlfriends.

I've heard the supercharged GP's can have some problems at times, as the friend I knew blew his tranny at 8,000...luckily warrenty covered that. however in general most who've grabbed W-bodies have seemed to liked them...

Before i get hazed by you for one of my last posts, aamram, out of curiousity i noticed that post you had a black '04 GAGT, and now you have a GTO. what happened to that GAGT? Get sick of it real quick or is it your daily driver.

It was my second GAGT, I wanted the GTO when I got that but it was when they first came out and where sky high.

I had that car for 8 months and 5300 miles. NO ONE would even buy it on here for $13,500!!!! To this day, someone in the USA lost out on a steal. Anyway, I couldn't stand that car with the black exterior and SLP, not to mention it was the opposite of a factory freak. So I took a $3500 loss to get the GTO.

GTO as a weekend car.. that's funny. You sound like the guys on ls1gto who think the car is some exotic.

One GP doesn't make all of them suck! Do you ever get of being bob's little Yesman?

all I ever see on this forum is; "man your a focking ****socker you need to go to focking hell" and then you're like "yeah tell him bob, tell him!" its f**king lame. Bob doesn't need a sidekick. But go on if you want to keep sucking his **** than I'll keep laughing at you.

anyway my guess is this GTO will end up looking more F-body-ish due to the fact its going to be the sister to the new camaro. I doubt they'd retro it.

Hmm, insulting 2 members in one post.... amazing. Not only are you somewhat ignorant about cars (I can ignore that, most people are), you are personally insulting 2 long time members on here. I don't care who they are, you should treat your peers with a little respect, much as I am with you, despite how I feel about you. If you think this type of attitude works around here, you are wrong.

and @ GTO as a weekend driver.... people around here drive them year round, long as it's not snowing right at that minute.

It's true. Someone at work has one... I see it 5 days a week, twice a day, and I'm sick of it already.

Buying a car of that color, or any other "loud" color goes a lot like this:

Buying:
WOW...I got a new car with this AWESOME orange color!!!!

2 months later:
I love my new car, it's a cool orange color!

6 months later:
Yeah, it's been a great car so far, and the orange is different

10 months later:
Yep, my car is that orange color

13 months later:
Hmm, love the car but am curious if the orange was teh right choice

15 months later:
Man, this focking orange is disgusting. WTF was I thinking buying that color. It's burned into my retinas.

the orange fusion color is kinda ugly...

Anyway didnt' really mean to bash Aamram, just bashing 02andahalfGT for being a little yesman and a little bitch. If either of them comment I don't mind, its entertaining anyway. Who cares about senoirity? I've been floating around here since '04, just started posting in late 05.

And I know a LOT about GM so don't even get me started. I know so much my friends tell me I should get a job at a GM dealership.

As for the Grand prix, I wasn't saying it was better than an accord or anything, just stating that the W-body is probably the best engineered GM out there... which doesn't say a lot, I know, I'm just saying, theres a reason why its one of the only platforms from the 80's GM is still keeping around!

i know exactly what you are talking about as i used to work at home depot... after about 6 months of orange forklifts, orange racks, oragne signs, orange aprons, and orange carts seeing orange just started pissing me off. I literally hated the color orange after that. The point is if you have to see a significant amount of orange every day of your life its going to start pissing you off...

Your second paragraph is evidence refuting your first paragraph.

1) the grand prix has been around much longer than the 80s, can we say...the 60s? (re-read your post, but the plaform name means nothing)

2) knowing enough to work at a dealership can be translated to: "you know nother, but you can sell bull$hit, so go make money at that."

in regaurds to the grand prix changing names...it follows GMs marketing plan for now. let them work out their problems. if they build a good car most of the public wont care what its called. by changing the name they are free to venture from what is stereotyped in the name of grand prix.
