is this the same kind of wrx you're looking at? This would be much more reasonable than a car with 68,000 miles.

I'd go take a look at that one, much better car and chance. Probably can get it for $14k

The tC is def a nice stock car, but I'm not looking to buy brand new. Don't like the Mazda 3, n the 6 is ehhh.. I really want a car with some power stock.

Randy, yeah, that would be the car I'm lookin at, but for not much more I can get the WRX. I'd MUCH rather have the WRX.

I can get a 2yr/24,000 mile warranty thru Subaru for another $1200 - so I'm gonna see if they'll throw in the warranty for nothing due to the high mileage. I'm def gonna try n get em down in price tho.

I'm going in about an hour to really take a look at it, test drive it, inspect it, etc. I'm pretty set on this car. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to shop around - I need a vehicle. Worse comes to worse, I sell it or trade it in a few yrs - at least I know it'll hold its value.

edit: btw, for those of u sending me PMs, I've been reading em, but I haven't had a chance to respond to everybody yet. I'm trying to be organized, so I'm gonna be making a list. I will want to get rid of these parts asap, n I'd also like to ship everything all at once so I'm not making a million trips to UPS or wherever. Just so ya'll know.

Go to the Scion dealer and look for a used 05 tC...you can find on in your price range for sure because they weren't that expensive brand new. It'll be lower miles and in better shape too I'm sure.

for Christ sake Mel, stop being another dumb ass young person. A BRAND NEW tC is going to be LESS than a focking used car for $14k + Interest rates on a used car are much higher than what you are going to get on a new vehicle which will make the price about the same per month. Then throw in the warranty you are adding, and the level of uncertainty in a 2 year old car that has 68,000 focking miles!!!

Don't be bullheaded. Check out the tC, you have $7k or whatever down payment. I bet the tC would be $40 or less per month than the beaten WRX...AND YOU WILL HAVE A WARRANTY...AND A NEW CAR. This is the exact reason my bro-in-law has told me the used car market sucks. He makes more selling them, but no one wants them because it makes no sense unless you are buying something for $8k or less.

$40 a month more = $480 a year. Which = the amount you WILL pay for 1 thing to go wrong with the WRX each year. You damn young people need to learn about cost/benefit and economics. Not simply "I see this...I settle on this...I must have it now because the world will end" Besides, the tC dealer will deliver you that car as fast or faster than the WRX should you go today and strike a deal.

Exactly right. Brand new is so much nicer than new...tC's aren't that much...you'll be surprised how affordable they are when you go talk to the dealer. As for waiting, I had mine 2 days after I went in to talk for the first time...and that was due to financial issues. Seriously, go to Scion and talk to them.

Yeah, mel you're facing a tough situation here. Seeing as how you've already put a deposit on the car, AND you're in the mindset that you're going to buy it today - you won't be able to negotiate anything.

I actually agree with Bob, I think you need to look for another car.

ugh, stop picking out a car for me guys. I appreciate the help, I really do, but it doesn't matter - I have an 04 WRX sitting in my driveway right now.

The car is in pristine condition. The interior is mint. I was wrong about the turbo guage - it's stock. The only aftermarket parts the guy put on are the wheels n tint. I took the car out for a nice 20 min test drive, nothing seemed wrong. I did get the 2 yr warranty, but they upped it to the premium 1 for no extra charge [everything in addition to the powertrain].

I'm EXTREMELY happy right now. I absolutely love the car. I have power windows finally!!

Bob - quit calling me a dumbass young person. I didn't have time to look around! I needed a car asap. I didn't settle on this 1 either - it was like it was waiting for me, since I had to get an automatic. I couldn't find another auto WRX for a decent price, n I wasn't driving all over the tri-state area to look even if I did. If I wanted a brand new car in my price range - I'd be looking at a Civic. I wanted something fast, n I wanted an upgrade from the GA. IMO, a Civic or a tC isn't an upgrade.

Furthermore, I went with my mom. When my mom told my dad the mileage on the car he was completely against it too - WWIII erupted. However, after he saw it he was extremely surprised as well. It's all highway miles too cuz the guy DID drive it to work. It's guaranteed to pass inspection. In 3 months the car will be 3 yrs old also. The guy got it in June of 03; so he did 2x as much driving/yr than the average person.

I don't need to justify my decision. When something goes wrong - go ahead, say u told me so. If 6 mos down the line sh!t starts breaking, hell, I can trade it in. I don't necessarilly hafta keep this car for 7 yrs. Bob, I understand ur looking out for me, n again, I appreciate it, but don't call me a dumbass.

well ,the car looks good. Like the wheels too, they look like Enkei's s o at least they aren't some cheap made crap. Hopefully things turn out well.

But I think it goes without saying that if you put chrome fender trim, or stickers, or stripes on this car...we are all going to come and kick your little ass. All exterior mods must be passed through Alex before you put them on!!!

P.S. Teh ghey plate needs to go...take the non-moving violation tickets like a man!
