yeah basically. I cant think of a GM product when compared to an import counterpart I'd choose the GM easily, aside from a vette but I'm not not sure of its import equals.

I still have a loyalty towards GM, but they definitly need to get their prices in check. This car is getting too high, and with the same powertrain as the GTP, it shouldn't cost much more than a GT. So what if it has aggressive body molding, it still is too damn high!

In this case yes it is you have to be a crackhead to pick a 30k+ G6 over a 350z...hell you can get a nicely loaded 350z with enthuasist package for a tad over 30k that wll smoke a gxp and be more reliable in the long run. I'm with amraam placing bets this car is never made, it wont sell especially with the new GTO and G8 anyone that would spend 30k+ on a G6 should be put in the loony bin

yeah thats basically what I'm saying. It just doens't seem to have much of a market it can fall into. I understand how a G6 can get close to the 30's and why people would take one over a 350z... because some people need a nice roomy family car. But making a sport version of it thats 34k, that gets right up into the range of sports cars and its still weaker... anyone who acctually wants a sports car is going to buy a damn sports car and not a G6 GXP.

And on that note I really don't see how they can produce it, but then again that $40,000 el camino thing that chevy calls the SSR somehow made preduction...

araam..i dont claim to be a s/c expert. from what ive seen, the FI for GAs has been around $3k, give or take. and the hp icnreases seems to linger around 55 hp gains.

i dont think this thing will get built. its GMs old game...make concept cars to get the public stirred so they buy the regular models. the same thing happened with the SCT GA. yea, they came out with the spoiler and hood (whoopty doo) but the s/c never bcame available, and they never offered the other body panels.

That's one HUGE reason people that were loyal to GM are moving on. You stick it to people, they will shop around. Why buy a Malibu when you can get an Accord or even better a Sonota for less money? Ever price a Cobalt with anything in it besides AC? Pricing is what is causing their sales issues, not build quality, not HP #'s it's bang for the buck (features for the $$ paid) and pricing. "What do you mean an Acura TL costs less than a Buick Lucerne CSX?" yep, the Lucerne has a V8 and the Tl doesn't? So what.

I think the G6 GTP has a target of Accord Coupe and Solara Coupe cars....not GTOs or 350Zs....(unless you need one car and live in a snowy area and cant have RWD cause its squirly in the snow.)

I would have to say for just over $30 grand I would be inline for a 350z..then again for the money, the GTO is WAY WAY better of a deal than the 350Z. I got to ride in one this last week(a 350Z) and was totally unimpressed by a few really cheap things. The silver door handle which LOOKS high quality feels SO cheap when you use it...like a knockoff chinese toy...totally out of line for the type of car it is. Also, when you shut the door, it has this flimsyness like closing the door of a Jeep Wrangler....I was caught off guard by that. The rest of it was nice though and it was decently quick when he got on it.

The thing that kills the Colbalt...is the Scion TC. Gives you everything a Colbalt has to offer, and a higher quality interior for just a little over $16k! I may be one of those loyal customers looking elseware, but in the meantime I made my choice and I'm stuck with it till, most likely, 2009.

Me too for a while, but then, I bought it 'slightly' used. Used GM is a pretty good deal most of the time.

yeah resale value dropes like crazy on GM's. I remember when me and my friend were looking at used car prices on line in 2005. There were used 2005 Grand Prix GTP's with like 5000 to 10,000 miles on them for like 20 grand! getting a slightly used GM can definitly get you a good deal.

Ive decided I like the GTP Coupe best of all the G6's. Actually I dont like the G6 really at all.

Good God those grills look like a buck-toothed rabbit. Is that a Peterbuilt or a Pontiac?

^ Agreed.
That's the only G6 I'd consider buying if everything except the grill went to production exactly as is.
