it definitely depends how steep and wide the driveway is. Many times if you go slow enough and take it at an angle you won't scrape. BUt I still agree with you. when I had my 86 TA I was doing stuff like that all the time to keep from hitting the front bumper, but I still hit it a couple times in my 3 years of owning it.

I went to the shop i got to school at, used air tools, spring compressor on the wall, and it worked out great.

Personally find someone with some air tools you will be done quicker.

well...it's not too dead...

I'm going to be getting around to doing the SE -> GT conversion here soon and wanted to know if I order the GT bumpers on ebay if they will just attach to the car without any modification? Also, for some reason, I haven't seen a GT rear bumper on ebay and wanted to know where I could order one not painted or anything, I have a friend who can do the paint for me, just need the peice. Thanx

I was gonna check them eventually, but I just figured they would be overpriced and that I could get one online a lot cheaper provided one doesn't turn up here or ebay.

sc/t spoiler....schrams (sp?) on ebay...loved the one i got from them

and its kinda nice, seeing like 25-30 different GAs within a weeks time frame and i'm the only one with the SC/T spoiler (saw one with a SC/T hood though - and only the hood, no kit)

its cheaper than the dealership. but i do believe rennation got a pretty sweet deal going through schrams near detroit. might try to talk to him about that.
you will need the GT fender liners or the holes for the screws wont line up. though, someone on here just poked in new holes on there SE liners i think. also, i truly believe that just the GT conversion is not worth it. IMO go sc/t or save your money.

I am going to be going the SC/T route once I get the cash, so hopefully by next spring/summer at the latest. Thanks for the help guys!

Hey Matt, what all do I need for this? Front/rear bumper covers, door ribs, anything else? I've got a WTB thread up here for the GT ribs, but if no one responds, I think I'm gonna go look at a junk yard and have to have them stripped and repainted if they are a different color. Same with the rear bumper if I can't find it.

I just checked schrams ebay store and they didn't have anything right now, but I'll keep an eye on it.

EDIT: Browsed gmpartsdirect and they want 390 shipped for each fascia peice. I'm hoping ebay will come through for me now...

Yeah you just gotta look around, its tough.

If you want to do a gt conversion you need:

gt front bumper
gt rear bumper
gt door panels (2 or 4 door whatever u have)
gt sides skirts
gt fender wells (idk what they are, my bodyshop got them for me, they are cheap)

if you want to do a sc/t conversion you need:

gt front bumper
gt rear bumper
gt door panels
gt fender wells
sc/t skirts
sc/t front lip
sc/t rear lip

Hey take a picture of your driveway...4 different angles and we will be the judge on if you will be "safe" lowering it or not.
