AaronGTR has spoken the truth so it seems...

Does that mean that hypocritically AGTR is...God?! Oh noes...

Just fockin' with ya so don't get your panties in a bunch.

For the sake of being on topic here are supposed shots of the engine however obscure they may look:

General Motors Corp. is investigating how photos of a vehicle identified as a top-secret, super high-performance Chevrolet Corvette showed up on several Web sites Thursday.

Several photos of the Corvette that showed both its exterior and engine began appearing Thursday on auto enthusiast Web sites such as Autoblog.com, Jalopnik.com and thegmsource.com. It's unclear where the photos were first posted.

The car was identified as a prototype of the 2009 Corvette SS, a 600-plus horsepower supercar dubbed by some as the "Blue Devil," after GM CEO Rick Wagoner's alma mater, Duke University.

GM spokesman Terry Rhadigan confirmed the automaker is investigating a possible "breech of security" but would not confirm the vehicle in the photos was a Corvette supercar prototype. "We don't comment on future products," he said.

He said GM believes the photos were snapped in Romulus by an employee of a transport company that was in the process of shipping the vehicle.

Rhadigan said GM could not confirm numerous Web reports that the employee was arrested Thursday by Romulus police. A Romulus police spokesman declined to comment Thursday night.

"We acted on what was an alleged breech of security," Rhadigan said. "We are still piecing it all together."

The Internet has been abuzz in recent weeks with speculation about GM's rumored development of a 600-plus horsepower Corvette supercar. GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz hinted in January that such a car was in the works, but it has not been officially announced.

Automakers have struggled in the recent years to keep a lid on photos of cars in development as Internet sites aimed at auto enthusiasts have proliferated.

"We do take it seriously," Rhadigan said. "We are a car company that has a lot of confidential future products in various stages of development. We rely on security to keep those products confidential."

GM is asking some Web sites to take the photos down, Rhadigan said.

Autoblog.com said on its site it removed the photos out of fear of incurring GM's wrath.

Holy Crap! That transport company is in deep with GM now. The intake "aftercooler" looks very close to production.

well because those are the ones that can afford them or are at least approved for the loans and can afford the ins because the premiums are so low...i see the newer style c5 and c6 vettes as the best ones yet, most power and the c6 is really the best in terms of fit/trim/finish style, options, price and anything else of most of the other exotics or the stinky viper or any of the rustangs or the GT.

id rather just have a c6 or a c6 z06, that will do thank you

just wait jay leno will make a diesel vette, or something else radical like that, maybe use the abrams turbine engine to make it a jet car

I talked to my dad about this tonight- he said GM is going to clean house with this company for releasing these photos, since it was a huge breach of contract. Many people will be fired, and this company is going to take a large hit.

Did you guys notice how in the exhaust there are little doors that open and close, like an exhaust cutout? What do you think that is?

even the Z06 has that, it is for 2 separate exhausts on the car, one is 2" or 2.5" and the other is 3" the door opens and closes relative to throttle pos and gear, for sound control and fuel economy, IIRC

“It’s a very difficult vehicle development. This thing has so much power that we have to explore a dynamic envelope that we’ve never explored before. We want the vehicle to be safe and we want it to be predictable, even at speeds that no mortal is ever going to attain in the United States. That’s our obligation. We’re really into a speed and power realm that General Motors has never been in before. We’re way up there with Porsche Carrera GTs and Ferraris.”
Probably my favorite quote.

Also, I always notice on these preproduction cars that on the rear and sometimes front they have these adapters- they almost look like the blue and red adapter's for when you change air conditioning coolant in your car- any one know what they do? They are on the corvette on the second page of Sik's article, on either side of the exhaust.

PS- those are some nasty steamroller tires on back!
