Exclamation Alpine or Pioneer HU?

i like both these brands and i know that a lot of the GAGT members have these. ive heard a few things about the brands tho.

on pioneer the iPod cable isnt as fast as the Alpines and its more difficult to learn than Alpine

Alpines 16X4 RMS compared to Pioneer 20ishX4 RMS make it way underpowered, but does it matter since my 2000 GAGT has the premium stereo (i think it does. it has a 6 band eq doesnt have the monsoon logo)

can you help me out here? thanks in advance!
-Seth

well i had a JVC and hated it, always skipped on me on dirt roads.......only problem is my dad has this rule of his that he wont get the radio for me and let me install it, and the only place that has pioneer in my area is the retards at best buy. sure i could go spend 300 on a clarion or panasonic, but thatd be a sign to a thief that ive got some audio besides that. hmmmmm......

There's gotta be an audio shop somewhere around there duder. Convince your pops that it's cheaper to do it yourselves and make him help you out.

i think the age factor is what scares him. but yea it doesnt matter. im not paying for it anyway. if he wants to buy the stereo, and pay a shop to install. i really dont care.

ive looked closely at the specs, and the designs of the units, and i have decided to go with Alpine. i read alot of reviews about the iPod features of the Pioneer and it seems that it would be too time consuming when i want to search for an indivdual song. despite having a lower wattage than Pioneer, the Alpine is the same as my old JVC. i like what Alpine has to offer, and it will fit the styling of my vehicle better.

thanks for all your help!

first of all, spend the xtra 20 bucks and go to the Pioneer 5900IB. i got it, ipod is very fast and is cool cuz u can actually go thru ur ipod right on the deck like u would normally right on the ipod itself.
sorry dude, sholda gotton a pioneer.......

i wont be getting it for a few weeks. i had read the owners manual for the pioneer, and you cant just use the volume knob to scroll through the songs....you have to manually push a button to go to each song.

Theives arent really specific as to what they want, they will take whatever the can get. I used to have a Pioneer HU, buti crapped out after a year so I upgraded to a Panasonic and IMO, spend the money on the panasonic...I love mine
