Im assuming its prolly thousands of dollars. If you want your windows tinted this bad, just do it and eat the tickets, would be cheaper total then buying the mechanical tint crap. What they should come out wiht is the glass for cars like peoples presciption glasses, that tint when its bright out...and are clear when its dark..makes perfect sense for a car, and it might actully be legal!

He already has his windows tinted.

As far as the windows automaticly tinting in light like glasses, dont count on that being legal unless it only tinted to state specific requirements for tint.

Electric Window Tinting
Time frame: Five years
What: Electric window tinting could take windows or a moonroof from clear to tinted to even opaque with the push of a button. Maybach already offers a panoramic glass roof that can be switched from opaque to transparent, but not many of us can afford a Maybach.
What we do now: Wear sunglasses and wrestle with the sun visor.

they have it for house's, not aware of the car side of things. the only glass i know of that can do this is for your house. you flip the switch and it goes from clear to frosty.
never knew they had a tint option which i dont think they do, thats probably why your not finding anything.

well from what i read, its not so much a window tint as it is the whole window which is connected to a control module that changes the polarity of crystals in the glass or some high tech **** like that.

so basicly you would have to get them to custom make you 7 windows which im sure is more than u want to spend.

5 For a coupe, but ... it still might be a film that can be applied to the existing window, regardless, the technology really isnt there right now.

A patent exists for something related already:

Possibly what you are looking for:

under that link, alot of the stuff that is "upcomming" is already present. things like the "economy mode" was on my mid-90's eclipse and nav. with real time traffic, 3 years? more like a year ago.

and yes, auto window tinting is available and used. many ambulances ive seen and used have auto tinting for the rear glass

I would spend the cash for adjustable tint. Get pulled and hit the switch and be like...what tint officer?

The date on the link is "Posted on 8/1/06 ", most of that stuff is just coming out. When they talk about this stuff coming out, they mean for it to be a feature, or option available in almost any car model.

the way that the window works is that when electricity is not flowing through the window the atoms are scattered causting a "clear" effect; once charged, they re align and become "tinted" or "opaque"

at least this is how it was explained to me by a tech that worked for WorldCom with my dad back in 2000
