Northern Indiana Meet?

i'm just wondering who would be interested in going to a meet in the South Bend area of Indiana. for those who dont know where South Bend is, its pretty much in the middle of the state, right below Michigan. reason i'm wondering is its a great location seeing as though there are a lot of people on here from Chicago and Michigan, and its kinda a half way point. Chicago is only about a 2 hour drive, same with Grand Rapids, Toledo, and Indy. I've been to meets before and lets be honest, the drive sucks, cause not only do you have to drive there, you have to drive back. 2 hours isnt all that bad. the only downfall is there is really nothing to do around here, besides just hang out at a park or something. which is fine. i'd just like to draw a lot of our Michigan and Chicago people together. not to mention Toledo and Indy.

there is no set date or anything, i'm just wondering the amount of interest people have. AJ maybe you can help me on this one. and i'm thinking sometime in September, when there ISNT a ND home game.

Yeah, avoiding an ND home game is a good idea, we don't need extra traffic.

As far as things to do, we could probably set something up at Potato Creek State Park, some good beach and grilling out there, you can go canoing, other crap like that.

Umm, I can probably get us the main parking lot at my school as well to put cars in if people want to explore Notre Dame..or the neighboring all girls college St. Mary's.......

I know Jim doesn't drink, but for the 21yo's we have some great Irish Pubs and Bars in the area, as well as an excellent microbrewery with attached restaurant.

I'll check to see if there are any special events going on in the area in September.

i'm just thinking a park with some sort of power so we can watch the game or something. that one on day right next to Disney school seems to stick out in my mind, cause there's b-ball courts, and tennis and all that jazz.

i think its time for us to have a meet AJ. were really in the middle of most of the people on this board. we should take advantage of that. even though i'm pretty anti-social.

Alright, I'm booked on the 8th doing a detail with Coupe..how about the weekend following that? It's another away game for ND, so traffic will be at a minimum.

I was thinking weekend of the 15th in September.

Also, I have beer pong covered for that night if this pulls together. Got 2 tables at my apt. I can probably let a few ppl crash at my place as well.

i have to talk with my roommates still, but i can probably put 4 or 5 people up at my place. there may or may not be a keg at my place, we haven't discussed what we're doing for away games yet..so that option is out there.

jim, if you don't mind, i'm gonna throw down holy cross as the meeting place since its easy to get to from 80.

here's the address for the mapquesters:
54515 State Rd 933 N.
Notre Dame, IN 46556

after turning in the main entrance, there's a large parking lot off to the left, just pull in there. i think the only thing left is to setup some times. if people want to grill out, i'll take donations there and then run to meijer (hook line and sinker ) to pick up stuff.

Ill help since I know the area pretty well. Never been to holy cross though, but I know where its at.

Studebaker museum? Could be something to do. Mishawaka brewery? I still haven't been there. Depending on how many people are going to come, we can plan on doing something besides drinking and talking about cars (like go to a brewery and drink and talk cars). Oh, and there is also oceola dragstrip. Maybe ill take the 74 cutlass since I would love to get a baseline on it.

Don't have to do it all, just giving ideas.
