Or for the simplest method......

Before you start the car, pull on the emergency brake then start the car, the headlight will remain off until you release the e-brake.

Hey Kdawg, I just realized that the kit on the GTO in your avatar closely resembles the kit on my Grand am in my avatar.

ya'll are making this **** too complicated.

on the left side of the wheel is your headlight controls (sticks out from the steering wheel column) twist the end of it completely counter clockwise while in park. your headlights will go off, parking lights stay on..i'm assuming this is what you want say if you are waiting for someone at night or such.

I would hope that he knew how to work his headlights in this manner in the first place. If not he deserves to be told multiple times.

that's the impression i got on what he was asking...

besides, it works as well when you start it up in this manner. the e-brake bit is too much work when you have a switch for it.

I do the ebrake thing, but that's just me. I wouldn't recommend it if you've never used the ebrake in the life of the car...wouldn't be a good idea.

Ok, dumbasses...

He has a '99 GA.

It doesn't have that parking light feature on it.
Once the headlight comes on, it stays on (at night) until you turn off the ignition.
