Is that what you wanted is fully loaded with navi? Or that's just what they had? What did your payments end up being?

I started playing with the idea of buying a slightly used 07 2wd SS (instead of leasing) and found some pretty good deals around $25k with around 10k on the dial (same as what I have now after 1 year). Contrary to what everyone thinks, I don't have a sickness for getting a new car constantly. I was trying to make a more responsible decision by getting out of the money-losing lease situation and buying something I will (and AM) going to keep. But the gas is still what's gonna end up making it more difficult for me than anything. No one I know wants me to get rid of the truck because they all love it. But I know it's the right financial decision.

I ran a couple worst case scenarios for what i'd be paying for gas if gas touches $4 a gallon, or even $5 a gallon. With mixed driving, I only get about 250 miles to the tank roughly.

$4 x 20 gallons = $80
$5 x 20 gallons = $100

4 fill ups = a car payment

BTW, if you do want better gas mileage on the highway, the best way to do it is to hold the TC/Stabilitrak button on the shifter down, until the whole system deactivates.

Unfortunately, I have no Scanner or Tech 2 proof to show anyone other than mileage i've actually gained but i'll let you be the judge of it.

My theory is that when TC/ST is on, the engine revs at 200-400 rpms higher with an adjusted higher electronic throttle position at your same accelerator position, to lighten the torque slightly in the situation where things if/may get slippery. With TC/ST off, after a few miles of cruising at the same speed with the same amount of throttle input, you'll see your rpms will fall a few hundred rpms, and you will have more accurate throttle control through your accelerator. You can call me crazy all you want, but the SS revs high on the freeway, so you can imagine i've tried anything I can. Upping tire pressure works too. 34-35 psi works the best for mileage.

After seeing the normal SS package and then the fully loaded one, and living in Vegas, and considering the fact that I won't be hotrodding this thing like a maniac. It's nice to have it fully loaded. :-)

good choice are you gonna do any mods to your truck? i leased mine for 3 years and cant find a way to stop wanting to modify it yet. there comes a point of no return where i have to stop unless i just decide to buy it after the lease is up. ya gas does suck but what are you going to do other than just pay for it.

i love mine and am really considering the buy out at the end especially since there are not making them anymore after 08.

at some point in time I am going to fabricate and intake for it, get some headers and fabricate and exhaust for it and then tune the sucker for the 91 piss we get out here. im also considering powdercoating the wheels black or getting them done up in black chrome. oh yeh and swap over to sirius radio instead of this xm ****. oprah to howard stern upgrade? also gold bowties ftl. they're gonna be either silver black or pink.

my money pit is going to still be grandma. so im buying a dolly or trailor to tow that hoopty. anybody got an f23 tranny laying around?

Spy, the rear gold bowtie is easy to make chrome. The gold part peels off.

As far as a front chrome bowtie, be careful where you get yours. I ordered mine online and it pitted from salt in only a year. Not too happy for $50.

Yeah, lose the GM squares, Trailblazer on the rear, replace gold bowtie on front with chrome (or ieatstr8 power coated bowtie) from group buy on TBSSowners.com, peel off gold bowtie on rear and add grafxwerks overlays to that and SS logos.

Since you have black, watch for rock chips on the doors behind the front tires, I have yet to see any real damage on mine and its an 07 with 17k on it. There is a TBS posted on it.
