the optima yellow top batteries are pretty good. but i would go with a deka intimitator battery. easily the best battery out for the money.and no you wouldnt have to upgrade your wiring and alternator. caps are a myth they dont fix nothing. i work at a car audio manufacturer and we dont even make caps any more cuz they;re useless. just run a positive from the front battery to the back and then ground the batt in the back somewhere or you can run a negative from the front battery as well. then run the power for your amp off the back battery.

i fully second that DEKA battery thing, i have one and love it. fixed my slightly low voltage at idle problems with my HO alternator and the lowest i ever see with the car off is an even 12v, with no draws it sits at 12.6V.
