NIEF Gettin' there
Few questions before I go see dealer 2morrow

I'm about to go see a dealer about this 2000 GAGT I saw on the net but I had a few questions to ask here first....

I mainly want a GT instead of an SE for the fact that its a GT engine and the top speed is 150. But someone told me that it stops at 128? I mean...I doubt I would have every hit 150 but still .

My question is...Is there any major differences between the SE and GT? I'm driving a honda accord 91' right now and I'm really looking to get into more of a car thats fun to drive and is...well...more of a CAR if you get my drift....(more power) basically...

Also...I know I'm gonna get laughed at for this question...But here in Illinois gas is high as hell around the $4.20/gallon mark. About $40 damn near fills up my honda tank. Whats the fill up looking like for a GA?

Top speed is NOT 150, It is governed at 127. The speedo goes to there but frankley you can put a gt dash in a se and have the "150" top speed.

Between the gt and se there are different gearing iirc and ascetics. Search for differences between gt and se and I think it has been covered.

Costs me about $40 to fill up

oh and Welcome

First off - The GT speedometer goes up to 150. That doesn't mean the car can go 150 (My GTO speedo goes up to 200 but believe me when I say my car could never hit that mark). The car is electronically governed at around 128. You could have that programmed out, but honestly, why bother. The major differences between the GT and SE are minimal. Body styling is the main difference. Do a little research and look at members cars to see what I'm talking about. Lastly, it will probably cost a bit more to fill up the Grand Am mostly because I'm willing to bet the Accord has a smaller gas tank. I would also expect the honda tank to last longer than a tank in the GA. With more power often comes worse MPGs.

^What they said. Also, don't bother with the SE if its only to try and get better gas mileage.... for city driving, the 4 banger gets the same mileage as the V6.
