My Turbo GA Progress-Update Thread - Page 6

So I decided to step it up and grow a set, car is completely done now but a/f gauge and pcm flash.. well i went to hook my dhp to my laptop and guess what, the laptop doesnt even have the stinkin port... can anyone verify wat port i need??? its a farely new laptop it looks like the DHP is a female monitor port

what kind of adaptor are you unsing?..ive got a keyspan adaptor with a usb plug that goes into my laptop

k i hooked it up to laptop but it says it cant see the device... the red lights on??? any ideas??? its hooked up to my laptop i dont understand

dumb question but do you have the power source going to the wideband/connector? It wont recognize it unless its powered ie on or acc depending on what you wired it to.

do you have the right software installed on your laptop?..i had to go to www.powrtuner.com and request the link from an admin for the software d/l im not absolutley positive..but i had to download a few things

ok all the power to gauges is to 12v ignition the green connector off my wb controller goes into the DHP PCM... which one side goes into my OBD and other plugs into laptop... and what files do i need?

i dont remember...youll havta try emailing an admin on that site...i also remember having to register my powertuner to the site and a code that was needed that i got from the guy i bought it from

why not? is the security light on? Lots of people resell tuned pcm's and haven't had any issues with em. As long as its the same year car it should be fine iirc.

ok but what about case learn?? if i cant connect to pcm i cant scan/?? my car was pretty much the same as todds but will that effect anything?? i was going to use his calibration to beginwith

The DHP powertuner cable uses a serial port connection. I bought the Dell laptop I did specifically because it had a serial port, which a lot of laptops don't anymore. It's not a very high end laptop, but then I only use it for tuning anyway and it works fine for that. Anyway, you can still hook it up by using a keyspan USB to serial adapter. You have to download the software from the DHP website first though. Not sure how you go about that, but Todd should be able to help you out. After you have the software, the first time you install it and connect to the PT you have to select some stuff like which port you are using on the laptop. After that it should be ready to go.

I can't get ahold of todd anymore... he said he's really tied up.. so im pretty much screwed all around because i was suppose to borrow his dhp account too.
