My PCM is here

I just got my pcm from MPR. Will I damage anything if I drive my car for a few days or so before getting the case learn?

It got shipped out Sept 17 and I received it on the 8th. Apparently it was held up in customs for a week or so, can't wait to get it in.

LOL funny, because I started searching all of the OPs posts to find out if he stated that he ordered one.
Then I read your post and 'd.

Because I ordered mine on 8/12 and still haven't got it shipped yet even (i think*)
I sent him an email asking what's up, and he responded a few days ago and told me that the PCM will be shipped the next day and the CAI I ordered will be shipping next week (which would be this coming week). Told me I would get tracking as soon as it's available... But... no luck as of yet.

He's probably pretty busy because of that crazy sale he has going on.
So not like I'm really holding it against him or anything.
I just really want to get that stuff in ;X
Especially since I'm running my old DHP PCM (as I have been since last winter) and never even got a case learn :P
and it's not tuned for my car either =[

indeed I have been rather busy resulting fromt he sale and as well my wedding on the 4th and I do apologize... However your PCM was shipped already and you should be able to check the tracking info by logging into paypal, finding the payment and clicking the link they provide. Paypal should have also emailed you to inform you of the shipment (seems they didnt??)

your cai unfortunately I wont have shipped out till tues or wed as we are out of filters but it will for sure be going out next week before thursday

in any case to answer the OP's question... I would highly suggest getting the case learn done asap as you very well can do potential damage to your car if you wait.. so basically if you care get it done asap, if you dont care then drive as long as you want..

Thanks Mark, guess I'll be waiting to put the pcm in untill I get a chance to see a mechanic My boss is gonna hate me for all the dissapearing acts I've been pull'n here lately cuz of the car. Another two weeks and my door windows get replaced then tinted. And I gotta squeeze a case learn in there somewhere . Oh and Hass I ordered the pcm Sept 1st.

Its fine, like I said... I figured you were backed up a bit from the sale =)

Whenever I check tracking I get..
Label/Receipt Number: fsdggsfsdfgsdfgssdfg
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on September 22, 2008 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. No further information is available for this item.

I'll try logging in to paypal though =)
Because it's always said the same thing since the 22nd.
Figured it may have changed after you shipped it... hmm.

edit; I just checked it and it says that when I log in as well.

Computer system has to learn the new programming that was entered into the PCM.

EDIT: 3 Seconds to SEARCH.......... It is advisable to make a trip to the dealer and instruct them you have a DTC P1336 which calls for a CASE learn. Some may refer to it as a Crank Positioning. Use some degree of discretion while asking them *NOT* to re-flash the PCM. If they re flash the PCM, all your tweaks are gone forever. It's a simple process that should take no more than 5 minutes. Most dealers do not have a problem with it. Many do it for free while other may charge a modest fee for it.

Is this due to warranty issues or something else?

Umm, if they reflash your PCM:

You LOSE all the changes/custom settings !

It will be back to stock PCM for you.

I purchased and received a PCM from Mark At MP racing. After installing it in my car I went thru the passlock clear and tried to start the car. The car would not start. I tried twice to reset the passlock and start the car without any luck. I did not have much time to troubleshot the system to find out why it was not starting. So i put the old PCM back in to get the car going.

Does anyone have any idea why a freshly programmed PCM from MP racing would not work in my car?

I had to do mine twice. After installing the pcm I rolled my window down and turned on the stereo while it was learning, it would not start. So I tried it again without causing any electrical interference and she fired up. Sounds dumb but it worked.

I had to do the security learn several times before it worked

No big deal at all for me.

Although my security light turned on when I put it in, and to this day has not turned off.

Anyone seen Mark lately? Sent him a PM on 10/29 and another one recently...
Said he was going to check the file he wrote for my PCM and get back to me (on 10/29) and still hasn't.
Fans don't turn on @ Key off and I dunno of anything else that's missing.
Other than the fact that my mileage is in the ****ter now too, .
Went from 27-28 to about 19. :S
