Sylvania Silverstars

Since I don't have projectors and I dont want horrible glare for other drivers, I am going to go with Sylvania Silverstars. I just want to know what kind I should get if there is a differnce, I know I have to get 9007, also I don't want the standard yellow for the foglights, just wonderin if any of you guys here know if Silverstars are made for foglights, and if there is what size and what not. thanks.

they make silverstar and silverstar ultras for our headlights (9007)
but only silverstars for our fogs (880). i went with the next wattage (an 885) bulb and saw more gains than buying expensive silverstar fogs.

also, i would not reccomend silverstars anymore... iv had too many burn out over the last year and they are too expensive to replace all the time. they do look very nice though ill say that much

Okay, how are the PIAA lights off PFYC, are they better than Silverstars?

I never had good luck with Silverstar Fog bulbs. They all burned out on me after 2 weeks. I have had both Silverstar and PIAA headlight bulbs. PIAA's are more $$, but they last way longer especially if you are running DRL's. If you are going with PIAA, make sure you get the Xtreme White one. I ordered a pair of PIAA's from PFYC a long time ago and somehow I didn't recieve that specific one.

Yeah, thats was i was thinking, I could spend a few extra $$ and get HIDs but I know the glare is horrible if you dont have preojectors.

Has anyone had issues w/ the brightness of the Silverstar Ultras? I had the regular Silverstars on before I got the Ultras and they seemed brighter. IDK. Maybe it's the black reflector of my headlights cutting out some of the extra white light.

PIAA's are great for people like me who just like to plug and play. As I said, they are more expensive than Silverstars, but they last longer.

I dont think they're too bad on glare, Theres a Grand am with 10000k in headlights and fogs, and his glare isnt bad at all looks damn near stock, yet some other Grand Prix have a glare from hell. So I might take a chance with HIDs not 10000k tho

I haven't had any problems with my 9007 Silverstars over the past year, however I've been through three 880 bulbs. I'm not looking for an alternative fog.

PM'd you btw Eric

For the price of the SS's they are not that great. After mine burned out within the year I just went back to the $10 specials at canadian tire. Only pick them up if they go on sale..not worth the full price at all. I still have to try the 885 bulb in my fogs.

I recently installed 6000K HIDs and the glare isnt bad at all

Some pics.. Anyone Interested in Switchback LEDs?

For the fogs, check out the Angel Eyes over on PFYC. Ive had em for about a year and the're great. Take an H3 bulb and they havnt burned out. The're pretty white for a halogen, but if you want somthing whiter you could always throw in some HIDs

can you still see your turn signals with your hids on? looking at the pictures the HIDs seem to light up the entire headlight...

Silverstar headlight bulbs are way worth the money. Silverstar fogs are worthless, they burn out easy. If youre going to Autozone, go to all of their lighting, the cheapo LED and add on crap and they have fog light bulbs there for $20 and they are a hyper white, and are brighter than silverstar fogs, and last so much longer. I havent had a fog go out yet, they last soo much longer and are half the price.
