Twin Turbo setup possible?

Is a Twin turbo setup in our GAs possible? I mean after a rebuilt tranny, block and heads would it be possible to get one setup to where it works great?

Unless im wrong, im almost positive you need 2 intakes to have a twin turbo setup. Or you would just have one turbo feeding air into another turbo and then into the engine. But im not 100% on this.

I would say issue #1 would be where in the hell are you going to stuff two turbos?

I think it's possible. You could use some 9b TD04 turbos.

zukiracer19 hey everyone, I'm a newb!
Is possible, I would think put a smaller turbo down underneath feeding up to bigger turbo... the smaller turbo would spool big turbo which would be a pretty cool setup.

but would it be any more useful, on our application, than just 1 normal sized turbocharger?

hmm has anyone ever tried this? A twin turbo setup caught my attention because of those damn EVOs floating around now with the twin turbos damn little rich kids haha. Would a GA with that setup run similiar numbers? Hypothetically speaking i mean if the engine was built to hold the setup?

Well if its alot better on any application than just 1 turbo i dont see why on ours it would not. 2 is better than 1 in my opinion. Just like two hot twins would you rather have 1 or 2?

I Would think it could be better, fabrication of it would be a pain in the ass, I'd recommend remote mount. more room back there. I would do a small 50 trim, spooling right away and put like an 70+ for top end.

I dont like the idea of a remote mount turbo not that it wouldnt work as good but i would like the turbo to be somewhat visible under the hood. Would be awesome to see someone go through with a project like this. I want to go turbo in the far future but still got alot to learn.

I just don't think there is enough room under the hood for two turbos, plus all the additional piping. Hell, look at the ones who have done a single turbo and how they had to cram it all in there. I think you would almost have to go remote mount with a project like this.

i think a "better" route (maybe) would be a supercharged/turbo set up. meaning mount the turbo remotely and pipe the output into the surpercharger's input...
would still be a complicated setup with lots of possible fault points

yeah, I think remote mount would be he only way, unless somehow you could fit it in front of tranny somewhere underneath. but even thats out of question. Too much work IMO. Procharger FTW.

Basically the only difference would be spool up time. IMO especially on these cars you are way better off with just one turbo.

and to add, evos and sti's are awd and its easier to put down larger power numbers with awd and even rwd rather than fwd due to the weight shifts.

In the end it does seem like a longshot anybody with a extra GA and maybe a few thousand dollars want to try this out?

I would say im sure there would be people but not with economy the way it is. You need to look at all the lay-offs, paycuts, all that stuff before you get your hands into a project like this.
