put on my CAI !!!!

i put on my cold air intake yesterday! i thought it would be pretty hard but the hardest part really was pulling the push pins out of the Wheel well liner. PITA. Removing the factory system was extremely easy, and installation of the new cold air intake took me maybe 10 mins max. Any way, just a tip. DO NOT CHANGE THE DIRECTION OF THE HOSE CLAMPS!!!! I turned one around by accient and as i was driving the throttle stuck because the screw part of the hose clamp was pressed against the cable that pulls the throttle. I dont know if you understand what i just explained, but just make sure your hose clamp on the coupling closest the the engine clears your throttle. But yea i scared the piss out of my self because my gas pedal stuck nd i had to shut off the car while in motion and drift to a stop. luckily i had a screw driver in the trunk and i changed the hose clamp. Anyway, after my stupidity was out of the way i test drove the cai once again and i love it. Acceleration is greatly improved, it has an aggressive deep throaty sound when you punch the gas, and it just looks great too. here are some pics.

get some red couplers that thing looks like you stole it from someone elses car ..

and get a better filter those things come with junk filters that look like they were meant for motorcycle motors

Like Mark said, S&B filter is better

The CAI that I am looking at, doesn't even use an oiled cotton gauze air filter.

Volant Powercore Cold Air Intake for my G8 GT.

It uses a Donaldson's PowerCore "dry" air filter; that are good for 4-years.
(Donaldson air filters are known in the Trucking industry.)

I have the same exact intake. I justreplaced the short metal tube between the engine and MAF with the stock one. I like the way it looks and everything fits better.

You think that, but it will get wet. I have had my car stall out a time or 2 from it actually. I currently converted it to a WAI until I can take a weekend to fab something up to protect it.

funny how i NEVER had issues with my fenderwell intake, and i drove through wisconsin winters and a ton of bad rain storms. later on i did convert to a wai during winter just to play it safe and after seeing how clogged up that area gets with snow . intakes are definetly fun to have
