Nice! I'll be interested to see how this turns out. That was pretty much exactly where I was thinking of putting an air/water core if I ever did it. I didn't like the setups others have done with the core in the engine bay. Too cramped and too much heat soak around the core.

The only thing I hadn't figured out is what I'd do for a washer bottle and if the ABS computer would get in the way or if I could move it. And if my CAI would interfere with it. I never got a core to do any mock up though. Biggest thing I liked about the idea of putting it there was ease of routing the piping too it, short routing of coolant hoses to a heat exchanger at the front, and close placement of the coolant pump. I also thought about the possibility of routing hoses from the heat exchanger back to a secondary reservoir in the back somewhere that I could fill with ice water at the track, then back to the core... would be an awesome setup!
